Hi
adamrocks. I was unable to check back in before now and I'm just now seeing your (and others') questions about PTX.
The show last night was a blast and my daughter and I enjoyed it immensely! I will definitely go see them again whenever they are in the area.
PTX originally started out covering all kinds of songs but to just say covers is not to do justice to what this a cappella group actually does. They recreate songs like a full band, but with only their voices replicating musical instruments or EDM! They are so good at it that their videos rack up hundreds of millions of views. They have also won a Grammy in the last 2 years for their vocal prowess & a cappella arrangements: one for Daft Punk medley (almost 217
million views); and the other for Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. People were actually covering PTX's covers!!
Daft Punk MedleyPTX released their first original album last year, which debuted #1 on the Billboards 200 chart. "Sing", an original single from that album, was reworked to now be the opening song for NFL Thursday night football this season! So Carrie has Sunday night football and PTX has Thursday night. Not shabby!
NFL Thursday NightNot to mention their Christmas album went Platinum during the short Xmas season last year. Their new Christmas album also seems set to sell a ton again this Holiday Season. So yeah.
Carol of the BellsI feel like I'm doing the same explanations for them as I do for Adam. LOL
People will tell me they don't like Adam's music or that they don't know if they would pay to see him in a concert. Oh well, we can't all like the same things or the world would be a mighty boring place I guess.
Adam and PTXBTW, Kirstie of PTX has been to 2 QAL shows and has tweeted more than once how awesome Adam is and that it is the best live concert experience for her (I'm paraphrasing but that is the gist).
