Totally different subject, but did anyone hear Billy Gilman sing The Show Must Go On on the voice last night? I was expecting big things, but it wasn't all that great. He just didn't sound anything like Adam. Adam would blow everyone's socks off on that show. Too bad he can't get on as a guest and show everyone what the term Voice really means! Cassie should look at Billy's rendition and hopefully, have a comment! I was pleasantly surprised by his singing. He has a good voice and he has good control of it most of the time. He sang in the original key, which is brutally high, and he didn't sound strained reaching for most of the notes. My problem was, I felt totally unaffected by the song's story. There was no emotion in the execution. No agony, no struggle, no tragedy. When Adam sings, there is this rawness, not in tone, but in emotion, that tears at your heart. There is defiance and courage and bravado. When I listened to Billy sing, I felt nothing. IMHO www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOBHrQ0aIIwMTE exactly when i watched last night. Good vocal, but he didn't touch me. Even though he explained how much this song means to him.

And while he ended well with a big note, I thought things got kind of muddled towards the end of the song and that he seemed to be running out of gas. Of course the judges all gushed about it as if it were the best thing ever... To bring things back to Adam, I had to listen to one of his performances afterwards. Yep. More passion and power.

Adam is up late again Almost 3 am there. But since they are already in Melbourne they don't have to fly again tomorrow I guess. Only the drive from Melbourne to Isaiah's town (which is still almost 3 hours though). adamlambert Home Return w @amalia.music @thexfactorau www.instagram.com/p/BM1heNchKci/

Just saw an XFactor instagram,
Guy Sebastian states he will be performing with Davey. Now that could draw a huge crowd. In a way I am actually pleased that they are allowing this as Davey needs the support in a performance environment. He would only have to perform and remember the words to a few songs. The others have so much more performance type experience.
All three guys having their home town visits today. Wow that is a lot of crews hired. The production for the show seems to be very polished considering the viewership being under a million range. Gotta love those commercial sponsors for forking out a lot of money to support this show.

So, I assume Vlado and Davey are also doing the home visit thing. ARe Guy and MelB accompanying them as well? I'm curious how much of this is standard, and how much is Adam being a great mentor and supporting his kids. The mentors in the UK version have always accompanied the finalists so I suppose it's standard in every country. I think having their celeb mentor on hand helps to drum up interest and excitement. I remember a few years back when there was great excitement in a town near me when Nicole Scherzinger came with finalist James Arthur, who went on to win the competition. James had great success after his win but fell out of favour due to his outspoken nature (he's like Adam, no filter, but without Adam's charm) and was dropped by Syco, Simon Cowell's record label and fell into obscurity. He got his act together and earlier this year was re-signed by Simon Cowell (the first contestant ever to be dropped and re-signed again) and is now enjoying a no. 1 single in the UK. I tell the story because James Arthur is appearing in next weekend's final (Australia, I mean). great info! Save

Re James Arthur... I googled his single....and I closed out after 30 seconds and hearing his gravelly voice singing ... I held your hair back while you were throwing up. I will wait until he appears on the show to see about a second chance. Perhaps I need to eat some breakfast to put me in a more forgiving mood.

Tears again....for me "Faded" brings out her vocal beauty so splendidly. Adam was a genius to pick this song for her!
