It looks like things changed, and in December Adam probably didn't know yet about the big "Queen" year ahead - just guessing. I think Adam will keep recording music and then release a single when the time is right. I would not be surprised either to hear something that's totally different from "bluesy". Tickets went on sale beginning of February! They absolutely would have known about QAL in Dec., even much sooner. Arenas book well in advance! ITA -- and I know that the North American Tour arena bookings were under discussion in late September. So Adam had to have known in December. sizzling63 I think you are right, it is likely to be something totally different than "bluesy." And anyway, Adam's definition of bluesy is probably really different than mine.

So he had an ambitious goal in December - a big year with Queen ahead and new music fast. I'm not surprised that adjustments had to be made, regardless of the reason. But we have no ideas if "adjustments were made." There has never been a date for new music from Adam.

So many intriguing theories and conjectures on these threads. Adam is in the trenches of his solo career now. The Idol boost is over and it's down to business. QAL is such a boon for him. International exposure, new fans. But when it's over, the true reality will set in. I know that most of us here will support him forever. Maybe musical theater and acting will come back into his career. Maybe fashion industry doors will open. This year could be a turning point in a number of ways. At least he'll be making lots of money on the QAL tour. His own solo music may turn out to be great, too. I'm a natural optimist! The QAL tour is a blessing in many ways - exposure worldwide, refining his performing skills to huge crowds, $$$. I think the financial aspect is huge as it likely means more freedom when it comes to decision making for his solo career.

As I've only been here for just over 2 years I hadn't seen Daenerys posting before and was intrigued. I looked back at your posting history and you were part of some really interesting discussions. One that jumped out at me from December 2013 was with Q3 which I hope you'll forgive me quoting here but it definitely comes under the header of "if we'd known then what we know now" Q3 said, I have followed Queen closely for a long time -- and I think it is very, very unlikely that Brian and Roger will do an extensive tour -- my bet is a few concerts -- like five. And I think there is very little chance that Adam will tour with Queen, but he might do a few special shows -- a mini tour. And the rest is history, as they say!! Oh the memories!! I was so wrong and I am so glad I was. [It was not the only time I was wrong!! Normal rule just do not apply to Adam.] No I never imagined that Queen + AL would tour so extensively. I cannot think of any opinion I have had that I was more glad turned out to be wrong. I am equally happy how well it has worked out for Adam. It has given him fame and recognition he never could have gotten without this opportunity. And, if he was not so supremely talented, it could have been a career disaster. **** That said, I have tried to be careful to separate predictions and guesses from facts. I am sure I have slipped more than once but I try. **** Back to today -- I can't think of any other performer who has managed to balance such a high-profile group career with a solo career in a different genre. Being critically acclaimed as a classic rock performer and also being credible as a current pop-electro singer-songwriter at the same time!! that is a real accomplishment. [And throw in some acting on the third side.] And regarding his pop relevancy -- I have only three words for that -- "Ghost Town" streams.

But it's May already and we don't have any new music yet - fine with me, I get it, but it looks like new music "fast" may turn into new music "soon" or "soonish", unless he surprises us. That could happen. Not everything can be planned either.
