I also prefer the original version. But, I bet if I was 15, I would prefer this one. If I was not so familiar with the original, I would probably like it better. This is not a song that I can listen to without thinking of the original (and its meaning) and the quintessential Blues Brothers movie version. So that is certainly clouding my opinion of it. > I would really like to hear Adam's raw, unprocessed vocals from this recording. I think the arrangement and production choices probably make much more sense in context in the movie and soundtrack. But the result is that it is no longer a soul song -- it is an electro-music theater song. The original and the later (longer) Blues Brothers versions have back-up vocals, horns and a power soul arrangement. That does not seem likely to make sense in this context. And horns are not really contemporary -- too bad. This new version is actually very very similar to the Blues Brother's version, for the lead vocal. I posted both that version and original in yesterday's thread. The original is much slower. Similar in terms of the tempo but not the production or instrumentation.

With all the excitement here about Think, I sat down to give it a listen. I want an acapella version of it. His vocals are awesome. The backing vocals are rich and work well with him. The one big negative I have is the instrumentation - specifically in the very beginning and during the sparse sections. It's just so clinical, lifeless - like High School Musical/Glee. And quite frankly like WAY too much music today. it got better when it got more busy because there was a lot more going on. The "Freedom" parts worked best due to Adam and the backing vocalists coming to the forefront. Pretty much what I was trying to say -- I just want Adam's vocal more upfront and clear -- and lose the electronic instrumentation. This is the one track that I really, really want someone to do a vocal only version. *** And yes, I get it, it has to be produced this way because it is 2017, but I can still prefer real instruments.

That answers the question about if Pharaoh will go on tour. Very nice for him to be with his "grandpa."

In the Brian May interview from yesterday's thread the host mentions the Queen Symphony by Tolga Kashif, a classical symphony based on 10 Queen melodies. I was intrigued! Found it on YouTube (where you can find practically everything). It is beautiful and fun (if you like classical orchestral music). For those of you who do, here it is:
WWTLF starts at about 48:00

I have the feeling that Sauli is going to be Adam personal trainer for the duration of the tour. No, don't think so. Sauli has work engagements in Finland during the summer. Let's hope that Sauli gets to visit Adam during the tour. ☺️

That answers the question about if Pharaoh will go on tour. Very nice for him to be with his "grandpa." Actually, on the US stretch of the trip, I would not be surprised to see Pharaoh touring. I hear they travel in style, right? What is fit for Queen, should be good for a Pharaoh too, shouldn't it? But, if Pharaoh will go to Grandpa's for the EU and UK stretches of the tour, then it is good, if he gets accustomed to his second home, and I guess, this week is his first extended stay, as best we know.

I have the feeling that Sauli is going to be Adam personal trainer for the duration of the tour. Is that what they call it these days... lmfao! ...i think it was meant seriously...Sauli actually is a fitness trainer and Adam has the luxury to have a fitness trainer with him on queen tours...didn't he recently talk about this in an interview? (but I'm guessing you know this already^^)... ...oh the fun on here! *rofl*
