Edited by Q3Warner Bros. Records rep tells Variety the singer has recorded “several new songs,” but at the moment there are no plans for a full-length record.
There is a line quoted above is not what was reported in Variety. Here is the entire Variety article by Michele Amabile Angermiller: June 30, 2017 | 11:15AM PT Adam Lambert’s new song “Two Fux” now has a lyric video. The “American Idol” Season 8 runner-up premiered the track — which openly addresses his own coming of age story in celebration of Gay Pride month — on June 22 during a live performance with Queen on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The confessional lyrics speak of self-realization, as Lambert sings, “No one gets me but myself / I’ve been this way since I was 12.” Asked if this track — which features instrumentation from Big Taste — is a precursor to a forthcoming album release, a Warner Bros. Records rep tells Variety the singer has recorded “several new songs” and that several more track releases planned.Lambert’s 2015 release for Warner Bros., “The Original High,” yielded the hit, “Ghost Town.” Since then, the star joined the judging panel of “The X Factor” Australia alongside rapper Iggy Azalea and portrayed the role of Eddie in Fox’s recreation of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Lambert is currently on tour with Queen this summer. The band is set to play the Key Arena in Seattle on Saturday (July 1). Watch the lyric video below: Link: variety.com/2017/music/news/adam-lambert-two-fux-lyric-video-watch-1202483508/..... Perhaps it was once in the Variety article but corrected, but not there now.

I'm so interested in the opinions about Adam's music release strategy. I think he has more songs in the works to release as he sees fit. Maybe NOT an actual album. I think Adam wants to stay on the cutting edge of how music is effectively distributed and promoted. So, we may not see an album, although I agree with someone who just posted earlier that Adam does seem to be an "album" guy at heart.
I think TwoFux marks a real sea-change in Adam's thinking about himself as an artist. Apparently, Max Martin, master hit-maker, is now out of the picture as a collaborator with Adam, at least for this next go-round. We heard that MM was going to be involved, but guess not. So Adam is moving more in his own direction and less in the traditional pop top 40 box. This came rather suddenly. We were all flailing over the release of A4. But there may not be an actual A4. Maybe a series of streaming singles.
Some here have pretty strong opinions about what they "know," but I think Adam is charting his own path. Who knows if he'll even be with WBR much longer? They certainly want him to sell well, but they have to agree on just how to make that happen.
QAL aside, Adam's next solo cycle looks like it will be pivotal. Looks like he's trying to define himself as the person/artist HE wants to be for the long haul. Longevity is fine with me when it comes to Adam's career.

I actually went on the websites for the radio stations I would listen to on my commute. Just to see. I'm on the road between an hour and an hour and half each way each day. Of course, I have to get through morning dj touting ads forever before playing music.
thought the song was wonderful. Hope its' numbers on East Side include soft=she..

Looks like I missed all the fun lol....just now getting back on line, I've had food poisoning for the last 3 days.
Yuck.
I don't really care how I get Adam music, as long as I keep getting new Adam music....I'm easy. The thing with an album is, we anticipate, we anticipate, then buy it....then stress over the numbers...then start anticipating the next one lol. I really like the surprise singles, like this one. And I love, love, love this song. This is the Adam I fell in love with. The one with Miss Thang inside of him, the sassy Adam. This song reminds me more of FYE, my favorite album of his.
Ok, back to lurking. Between food poisoning and year-end at work, I'm pooped...it's been a really long week. Thanks for cheering me up, Adam.
I have 4 days to catch up on all the concert vids...yay !!!!!!!

Looks like he's trying to define himself as the person/artist HE wants to be for the long haul. Longevity is fine with me when it comes to Adam's career. ITA Adam is clearly charting his own path. But I have also learned that what Adam says, happens. He said he was recording an album, he is recording an album. There apparently will be several tracks released -- at least according to Variety. Hard to tell what the strategy is right now but it appears that TWO FUX is getting some good buzz and promo. It is an unusual song, not designed for radio but for streaming media. I think they want to see what it will do. It also seems to fit well with Pride month and QAL Tour. So although Adam apparently didn't plan it -- it seems like the perfect buzz single -- a track to get people talking about an artist's music. TWO FUX is now a Hot Track on US iTunes. So it is generating some buzz!!I would be thrilled if they released a few tracks over the next 6 months and then the album in Q1 2018. In first quarter Adam would have a shot at another #1 album with some great music, strong promo and luck. With digital album sales, the sweet spot is to get people to buy 3 tracks, then it is easier to get people to complete the album. I hope that is the plan this time.

Back to that OUT interview, which I love. He speaks about this "project" in the context of Trespassing and TOH which were albums, so there is def a themed set of songs coming IMO. Whether it is single by single or an EP this year, I think its gonna happen. An EP seems likely, to me, and could be why he is using words like "project" instead of album. "Two Fux" just seems so conceptual to me. There is no need for a concept, if he is just releasing several singles. For me, the great thing about EPs is that they come out faster. And they cost less! This method of introducing music makes it very difficult to predict the future doesn't it? He has had a few individual projects since TOH and besides his collaborations (Broken, Lay Me Down which were promoted of the DJs) it seems to me that he releases new music around an event - Welcome to the Show/Stanley Cup, Freedom/Captain Underpants, and now Two Fux/QAL tour. It makes me wonder if some of the other music in his "project" is tied to events we know nothing about. It's exciting but confusing. I guess we will know when we know, Adam has learned to be very closed lipped. I am curious exactly how music ends up on important playlists. I gather they are curated but by whom.

Thanks, Patti...5 of us went to Chili's on Sunday for a belated Father's Day lunch, and all 5 of us got sick by Tuesday. Coincidence? Me thinks not.
I usually like Chili's (they have a great salmon dish),but I don't think I'm going there for a while lol.

Anyway the good news is that IF all goes according to plan we should get more new songs before too terribly long.
