AFTER a sluggish start, Channel 9’s reality TV show The Voice has really picked up in the ratings for the final week of the blind auditions.
Now Channel 9 will be hoping that ratings momentum continues during the knockout phase of the competition, which begins tomorrow night.
And they are bringing in the big guns to do it.Boy George’s team received a surprise visit from American powerhouse singer Adam Lambert for a mentor¬ing session before taking to the stage.
“My friend Adam just happened to be in town doing sellout concerts with Queen,” George said, much to the ¬delight of his team members.
“He knows what (the Voice contestants) are going through because he’s been in a similar situation.”
Lambert found fame on American Idol in 2009 and since then has sold over three million albums as a solo artist.
He also tours the world as lead vocalist with iconic rock band Queen.
While he didn’t pick a standout performer, Lambert said the contestants in Team George “had a really good energy” and there was plenty of potential for success after the show is over, encouraging the artists to “be themselves”.
