read an article in "der Stern" today. They praised the movie for what it was. A great piece of entertainment and of course Rami Maleks acting but criticized the same thing as the other reviews. Queens live cannot be portrayed in a pg movie.
They had good argumentation citing a biography. Taking a whole paragraph describing a party from the book and yes, those things were not in the movie. What they really criticized is that Roger, Brian and Deacon are portrayed as way to tame. While not every single detail was explicitly shown Freddie was definitely not pictured as innocent.

I was watching Bohemian Rapsody last night. Two hours went really fast so it means the movie was great. I had great difficulty with not getting up my seat and starting dancing with music. (So I dance a little in my chair) There were a lot of things I didn't know about Freddie or Queen. When Adam appeared, I jumped into the air and poured a neighbor's water bottle. What was special was that at the end of the film the audience gave the aploods and people did not get up from their chair until the credits were gone and the lights were turn on and even then some of the people sat and stared at the empty stage. Very happy that fans are loving the movie. Some of the reviews seem to be coming around too. There just may be some Oscar nominations in the future. Too bad they didn't have an original score to be considered. But I guess it was not something that could be done when the movie is about a real band and frontman.

I saw Bohemian Rhapsody last night with my daughter and husband, and we all LOVED it!!! We are still talking about it and how captivating it was. I think the movie did a very good job at highlighting Freddie in his "prime" - his struggles with his sexuality and private life and his undeniable musical genius - and even though I have never followed his story closely, the movie came across as honest and not trying to hide anything. Loved the band interactions, the insights into the bands' struggles, and the acting overall. Ramie Malek is phenomenal in the movie!! I was surprised that the Live Aid concert was their biggest career highlight for them, as it lasted only for 20 minutes or so.
I thought about Adam a lot while watching the movie. He can not be applauded enough for what he has accomplished.
