Why Dublin? Because Belfast is not that big when it comes to high end infrastructure, i.e. a hotel where you can dodge all the journalists, do final rehearsals without being heard, have meetings without being seen. The town of 250K people (twice that, if you include the suburbs) in a divided and for the longest time war torn region does not have a lot of A-list places to stay and move about. So they did a classic divide set-up: Half the big acts were known (i.e. Gaga, etc.), they get flown into Belfast and absorb the whole media hub-hub. They also get the few a-lister suites and places that are available within town. The rest of the A-listers and anybody who needs to meet in total secrecy stays in Dublin and does the two hour drive to Belfast by car. All music and entertainment oriented reporters are in Belfast, so in Dublin you book one of the luxury places or some private estate and you can be undisturbed. And all this makes sense no matter WHO Adam will meet and sing with and we know that there is something major going down, because just for Adam alone this secrecy just would not make sense. I am still somewhere holding my breath that the "Under Pressure" scenario will unfold, Bowie and all....hoping....hoping....hoping. If it does, that certainly would justify both the secrecy and the separate arrival plans big time. The fact that the BBC guy does not know when and how Adam arrives kind of proves that there is something going on. He probably saw all the big acts show up in Belfast and realizes that he is missing a few names that are on nobody's flight plan. Then he sent his tweet, trying to go fishing, if anybody had seen Adam or knew something he may have gotten a leak. But nothing. Adam is probably holed up somewhere secret with whoever it is he is meeting. At least that is my theory and I am sticking to it. I love all your details, but he stayed in London. I think the theory. someone posted, that the planes from London to Belfast do not have a first class cabin may be the right theory. The boy has gotten used to his luxuries! He stayed last night in London, does not mean he will do that again this night or the night of the EMA's, does it? I assume that there are a few private planes involved in all this anyhow. Queen needs to get themselves and all their gear into Belfast and they are not walking across the channel either. With so many big acts and so many reporters and so much buzz, I don't think that the first class vs economy is the driving element here. First class is not really separated, it just is the front part of the plane. While the seat and service is nicer, it hardly separates you from any crowds. Btw, I don't think that Adam is too spoiled for a regular flight, I think it is a necessity for him. I think, sometimes he would love to just mingle and be normal. It is a side effect of his way up the fame train that this is so often not possible for him. Just think how often during GNT the band and dancers were able to come and hang with everyone, but Adam rarely could. He gave autographs and then retreated. I don't envy Adam his seclusive status and I am glad whenever I can see him be able to break away from it. But obviously, the next 48 hours are not about this. May he enjoy any 'caviar' that comes with gig and hopefully use all space and time to socialize with the A-list he is now part of. ETA: just checked for 5 star hotels in Belfast. There are two officially listed, one (the Hilton), offers rooms for the bargain place of $ 109 - lolz. I pay that in Harriburg at the Econolodge. Just gives you a sense for that town / dump. Sorry, if I am offending anybody from there, but it is very industrial, it has less than 50 hotels total, only twelve of which have either 4 or 5 stars. It has a few pretty buildings of Victorian and Georgian architecture, but which town there doesn't. It's cultural impact and offerings are limited. Getting this EMA's into Belfast is an effort comparable to London preparing for the Olympics. I kid you not.

but Brian May confirmed her performance = Gaga is performing more than once IMO. Whatever, as long as Adam gets to sing I totally don't care who else sings. Yep, she is performing more than once. (thought we had this figured out yesterday :D) There is a Queen Tribute at the EMAs. A Tribute usually means there is more than one person singing. IF Adam is a part of this, chances are slim that he will be the only person singing on the stage. In the past, the Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin Tributes had several vocalists singing parts of different songs. This is how most tributes on awards shows are handled. I am sure "managing the expectations" was discussed as well (I've scrolled a lot lately) - I am trying very hard to read Adam's tweets with as much skepticism as I can possibly muster, so that whatever his role turns out to be at the EMAs I would not get disappointed. I am "downgrading" as we go: from my initial hope for the NEW SINGLE + QUEEN ---->to just QUEEN ----->to just ONE OF THE QUEEN tribute participants ----->to a presenter-----.to interviewer on the RC... I did rule out the"sitting in the audience" based on the "much more" tweet... is there anything else I have not thought about? I am also prepared to try an ignore the hair situation, and I keep telling myself that what he has is the "IN" style and it is therefore "good" for appealing to the European youth. All I have to do now is to somehow manipulate my RL schedule into being able to watch on-line....and that ain't looking so good

According to the EMA official website (http://tv.mtvema.com/), the show starts live at 9pm Central European Time on Sunday (side note: it will be shown on TV in the UK starting at 9pm UK time, but that's because the UK is not going to show it live, they will broadcast it an hour late).
Normally, there is a 6 hour difference between Central European Time and the American East Coast. Right now, the difference is all messed up because the US hasn't changed out of summer savings time yet, and Europe already has. But since the US is switching tonight, it should go back to a 6 hour difference tomorrow.
This is all to say: according to my calculations, the show should start live at 3pm US Eastern time tomorrow.

??? Bowie is legally resident in Ireland (for tax purposes), where his principle residence is located. Irish tax law holds that musicians, artists and writers do not pay tax on royalty income generated from resale of their products. Bowie's Irish residence is a 640-acre estate located a short distance from Dublin.www.teenagewildlife.com/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/torrie/fom.cgi?_recurse=1&file=9

I don't have Direct TV so will be relying on the live feeds with many of you. What time is the show and does anyone have a time converter? IIRC, the EMAs begin at 9:00 pm Central Standard time. here is the time zone converter I used: www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.htmlThanks!! 9 pm your time is, I think, 5 pm here... Doesn't your clock go back an hour today or tomorrow?
