Well je parle nothing de Francais, or Finnish, or German, or Russian. I am always amazed at our international members who speak/understand multiple languages. Welcome, darling and if you can make the effort to communicate with us no one here will judge you for your English. An Adam fan is an Adam fan.

On Adam and the Oscars -- there is no indication that he will be at the Oscars -- and I would be surprised if he was there. But if he wanted to go, he probably could get a celebrity seat now. And many celebrities that are not in movies go to the Oscars. Just doesn't seem like an event that Adam would be striving to go to. But he won't be missed because Constantine Maroulis has been to several pre-Oscar events so he might be there! My guess is that whatever The Blonds created for Adam is for some other event. ETA: darling2004 --- So pleased you joined in. I am certain that your English is much better than my French! Yes, the site is mostly in English but English is a second (or fifth ) language for many, many posters.

Could he just go to Madonna's party? Didn't Lisa Pitman tweet that she and Monte are going, maybe Adam is going too?

Fantasy Springs was such an amazing touchstone for me - I overcame my fear of flying to be there (surely God wouldn't be so cruel as to make the plane crash when I was going to see AFL, right ??) ??? - it was my first visit to Southern California and I got to visit Joshua Tree National park - I met so many amazing fans, it felt amazing to connect through our love and admiration for Adam - the concert was amazing, it truly was one of my life's peak experiences - especially WLL which was amazing - the energy exchange between the audience and Adam was out of this world ;D - plus I got to see Adam close up as he was leaving the elevator bedecked in his feathers heading for the venue! Happy, happy memories......

The Vevo video of Sleepwalker counter has been corrected. It is now at 9657 views. Is that all? Guess I'd better go look! Again! IMO - Houston Sleepwalker was one of Adam's best performances of that song:

G'morning, all. Great Sunday posts as usual, Q3 & NoAngel. Chunkey, I know what you mean: I had that same reaction when I posted that twumor word re: the Oscars yesterday. As to the Twitter avi... When I first set mine up, I did not feel right about using Adam's picture. However, it would not have been professionally prudent for me to have my picture or name on twitter. I elected, then, to use a glitter bomb as my twitter avi. On the other hand, since this is a decidedly AFL forum, I feel fine using my TallAssPompaDo avi here - plus it reminds me of the epic summer of '09 at MJ's when we all 'met.' I would also like to say Welcome to our new delurkers. I just love seeing all the folks joining us! Which leads me to give an Atop welcome to glamagal2. She has registered here and does not post but faithfully reads the Daily News thread everyday. She is also an avid AFL fan: buying his stuff; gifting his music; attending numerous concerts; coyly presenting him to family members, friends and coworkers; watches out for his radio airplays; and generally is very gently but firmly defending gay civil rights whenever the opportunity presents itself. Some Topians/PFers have met glamagal2 at numerous concerts we have attended. This is just to give her a Topian welcome but is not in any way an entreaty for her to post. We all have our different ways/levels of stanning.

Good morning, love Sundays and reading NoAngel's posts. I am in tears! I was there too and it will always be my "legend" moment like many others. And the painting thoughts are so true as you say: "And then there was Whole Lotta Love. Already an Adam F. Lambert classic, that night he took the song and crafted it into something utterly unique and indisputably magnificent. We were witness to the artist at work. He trusted us (and himself) enough to create in real-time, risking imperfection to bring his art to life before our eyes. Substitute the word “song” for “painting” and this quote by Jackson Pollock resonates..."
Q3 very interesting when you say: " am not claiming that Adam is an icon but I do believe that he has the innate potential to become an icon. He has already managed to be substantially outside of cultural norms and still be commercially successful. And, that, is a huge accomplishment"
and totally agree with Cassie's comments to your post and this analogy:
"Adam didn't blaze across the sky like a meteor after Idol. But meteors burn up in the atmosphere or crash to earth. Adam was like a rocket lifting off. At ignition, there is a huge roar and plume of smoke, but as the rocket starts to move it looks like it will never rise from the platform. Then slowly, slowly, the smoke clears and it picks up momentum, shooting higher and higher, its own fuel powering it into the stratosphere and beyond."
Personally, at the start I really hoped, and thought, that he would go mega-superstar right away and after a while started to be sad that the only ones who seemed to see this stardom were the fans and not the mainstream. What was wrong with them?! But what Q3 and Cassie expressed here on page one (haven't made it past here yet but wanted to comment) is what I too have come to believe. I DO think he will be an icon, but that it will take time. I already see some glimpses of it and better to spoon feed the mainstream in small doses rather than burn them out and force something on them they don't know they want at the time.
Ok, now to reading the rest of the posts and listening to the WLL that NoAngel posted:-)

re: Adam and the Oscar's: Could he just go to Madonna's party? Didn't Lisa Pitman tweet that she and Monte are going, maybe Adam is going too? That makes the most sense to me. I cannot imagine Adam sitting home alone on the biggest party night in LA. So either he will be somewhere or home with someone.
