It's the Finale. Think Idol. There are many top name acts that night. I would assume XF is done in a similar way. And yes, Beibs prerecorded yesterday. So how does it work for pre-recorded? They will just play his tape on their jumbotron? I hope Adam will perform it live if he gets to do it in US XF. Maybe Brian Friedman will let his dancers to dance with Adam... LOL The TV feed makes it look like they are actually there. The host acts like the artist is really there! But if you look close, if there are no judges, it is always a prerecorded number. For the people in the live audience, yes, they are watching on the jumbotron. I went to the S6 Idol Finale and Green Day was prerecorded but it looked like they were live on TV. Last year's Idol Finale was all live, as was Adam's in S8. |

Thinking that Q3 gave us radio lessons in the past that said charts were locked in December. Because it was only Santa on the airwaves. So what will be Adam's debut week, then? Such an odd release date. Has to be some kind of reason. TV would explain. But this click hound entertainment site says Biebs is doing X-Factor finale on 12/22: goo.gl/pAxDPNYC shuts down for any real biz - like media coverage - starting next week til January. Most people either celebrating or dreading their upcoming family events. Not paying attention to any entertainment news. Skimmed back many, many pages, apologies for not finding learned answer in between the squees. Just wondering. Cuz, knock wood, snippets sound like near perfect, made for radio hit. Who's done dubstep with classic commerical pop? Brilliant idea. There is a freeze on the Mediabase charts at the end of the year -- but that is different than what happens on the radio. The Christmas freeze starts tomorrow until January 5, 2012. Radio stations keep playing music. But they do not add many/any new songs. Regarding airplayAC stations shift to a lot of Holiday music in December. HAC stations add in some Holiday music by popular artist in December, but they play a lot of best of the year hits. Not as much new music. Top 40 stations play fewer current hits because they do more best of year shows. This song is not going to AC, the format that goes Christmas crazy. They will push it to HAC and Top 40. BTIKM will get airplay. |

Thanks, Q3! So the radio charts are frozen which means we have 3 week of angst free time to enjoy the single without worrying about any numbers! Woo-Hoo!!

BTIKM is being serviced to radio stations on 12/18/11. That means they are probably going for adds first week of January.
Stations can play the song on 12/18/11 but most playlists adds will happen when the song goes for adds.

I left on page 8 and came back to 53 pages!!  But I didn't go to the end to get the Adam news. I started on page 8 because I wanted to feel all your excitement waiting and getting Adam's cover art and song snippet!!  OMG! The cover art is amazing!! And I am loving the song snippet. It is staying in my head on repeat! ;D Thanks for the mp3 download since Amazon took the snippet down (major fail ).  is the reason for that?! I raise my glass to you AFL...you never disappoint!! It's been fun...before I head out, my thoughts are with Adam. As fans we have been waiting for a year for new music. But what has this process been like for Adam? What is he feeling now that he is finally releasing his first single? From his executive-produced sophomore album?? Is he realizing how much he is loved by so many? ( We crashed Twitter and probably Amazon..  ) I hope he is basking in the glow of this creation and continues to do so as the album release unfolds. I think of the countless hours he must have spent in studio, with various writers and producers. The hours he spent alone wondering what direction his music would take. Wondering, perhaps, if it would be embraced. Having doubts, dreams and a vision. So I send all positivity to this courageous man who has once again managed to unhinge us all. May he continue to do so. All happiness and success to you, Adam! ^^LOVE THIS!!!^^ And I have to add, having Adam sing on XFactor with Justin Bieber couldn't be better. I don't expect the Bieber-boppers to notice, but for all the other millions of viewers, the contrast in vocal ability will be OMG! I am usually one of the last to jump to conclusions but I am planning on Adam singing this AMAZING single in it's entirety to the embarrassment of JB and to the enchantment of everyone else. |

Sorry to disappoint y'all but we will get numbers and we will prob angst for no reason. The Christmas Freeze doesn't mean there are no charts. So 12/18/11 -- be ready to start counting! I personally have no plans to angst. King Joe has cut a deal with Clear Channel. BTIKM will get airplay. Now we'll see if non-fans like it -- that is the test. Regarding the Nickelback comment -- are you kidding me. Seriously does not sound like Nickelback. More like Back Street Boys but in a good way. |
