soundbath.wordpress.com/2012/09/16/queen-and-adam-lambert-in-london-july-2012/Gary:As for filling Freddie’s shoes, I personally thought he was superb all round. His vocals were powerful with much range, and his command of the stage and audience was excellent – he wasn’t phased by anything. What also struck me is that he also has a unique quality that Freddie had which to my mind is one where whilst performing the level of passion and consciousness is on a different level. It’s as though they are on a different plain to us, and something I’ve rarely seen in any performer, but Adam has “it” as well! I don’t know if it’s something he does to focus, but 4-5 times throughout the show, Adam looked directly at me in the eye whilst singing for about 10 seconds, maybe he picks someone out to do this for some reason? ___________________________________________________________ Cassie... the last paragraph I posted above (quote from Gary) is it possible that Adam could be looking randomly at a group in the audience and each felt that Adam looked at them or you think Adam just focus on one individual (unconsciously) look at his/her eyes and felt that Adam sings for them for a few seconds? This comment is very common in Adam's audience ... even in the EMA QAL, one of them tweeted that AFL looked at them in the eyes and sing to them. :D Just curious.

This comment is very common in Adam's audience ... even in the EMA QAL, one of them tweeted that AFL looked at them in the eyes and sing to them. :D Just curious. From my experience performing, I think it is a bit of both. Often, because of the bright lights onstage and the darkened theater, you really cannot see anyone in the audience past the spill of the stage lights. So, when people in the balcony claim he has fixed his gaze directly on them, I don't see how. but, it is a technique for connecting with the audience. Look in their direction, and imagine you are looking at someone in particular and interacting with them. When the lighting allows me to see faces in the audience, I will tend to focus on people who are focused on me.... who are "giving good face." They are affirming; I know we are connecting, and that fuels me. So, those lucky enough to be close enough to the stage to be lit by it, I think do get a direct look from Adam. IMO.

Live Review: Queen & Adam Lambert – London Hammersmith Apollo 11/7/12by Mark Gilroy Vocals and Keys News, views and album reviews from a singer/musician Excerpt:As the lights came down, the synth intro to “Who Wants To Live Forever” played, and a collective shiver crept round the room. For a while the crowd sang along, before most found themselves stood in astonishment at what they were hearing. I’m not a massively emotional person…but suddenly I found myself moved to tears. Music and emotions are so intrinsically linked, but I’d never before heard an artist capable of conveying emotion so powerfully in a live setting. The first of many standing ovations of the night followed.

Dr. Brian May tweets:
Adam is utterly brilliant. We had such a great time touring. Doing US dates together would be a blast I'm sure. Maybe one day

Spike Edney (Queen's keyboardist) talks about Adam: Roger and I rushed back to London to rehearse with the fabulously talented Adam Lambert. This guy is one of the most naturally charismatic and gifted vocalists I have ever seen. He appeared on American Idol as a contestant in 2009 and when I saw him I knew at once he was a phenomenal talent and hoped that I'd get to work with him one day. It is my deeply unpopular opinion that Kris Allen played a better game on American Idol than Adam Lambert, even if Adam's voice is the winged, mythological, thundering rhinestone valkyrie wail that it is. Though his best moment will always be his bonkers performance of "A Change is Gonna Come," you can learn all you need to know about Adam from this casually amazing version of the national anthem. He's not even trying to have that much control. He just does.www.afterelton.com/2013/01/7-underrated-national-anthems?xrs=synd_twitter_elton
