Awwwwww, I'm here, darlin'!!! I am so fucking overwhelmed right now, that I can't even think!!!! YAY!!! Did not want you to be missing out on all the EPICNESS that is February 3rd!!!  I am definately not missing out on all the EPICNESS!!! I'm just so lost in the REALNESS, that it is hard to relate.... The vid has taken me to places that I didn't even know I needed. I love it, and I need it, but it's hard. So much to think about, so much to love!!! Adam rocks my fucking world!!!!! And, tells me some things that I maybe don't want to know. LOL!! I'm so blown away by this vid! I have no words to express it. It is so close to my heart....I love him more than I love myself. I know that's not right, but I'm in that place right now. He gives me hope. Adam is such a beautiful person, that I know it will get better. |

Will the video be on VH1 tomorrow on their top 20 videos? They usually play a few new videos that aren't in the top 20 yet. Anybody know how that works? This has to be the best video of the year so far. Hopefully, it will be the best video of 2012. Are you and Mr Irish coming to Atlanta 3/23 for the listening party? I'm thinking about it. If I can talk my husband into it. I think he is sick (after 3 years) of me talking about Adam. I was at the computer first thing this morning, and I played the video. I hollared for him to come in and see it. Of course, he ran right in and just stood there and muttered "I'm not impressed." Which of course got a "fuck off" response from me. I think it was too early in the morning for him to be listening to Adam. I noticed him later in the day when I was out of the room playing the video. (He liked it. I know he did.) What really makes me laugh lately are those videos with the man and woman talking about Adam. The one that really made me howl was when he was looking at her Ipod and wanted to know who GB was. So funny. Some of the things they say sound like what is coming out of my and Mr. Irish's mouth. |

Somebody posted SOMEWHERE in this thread about thinking Dark Adam was actually crushing a heart in his hands, instead of the pomegranite. (Please forgive me but I just can't go back & find the actual post...it would take hours!) I watched the video on my phone 1st thing this morning & on that small screen I actually thought that he WAS crushing a heart in his hands with the blood running down. There was just so much to take in all at once. Of course I watched it about 20 times before I got on here & saw it BIGGER & then saw comments about the promegranite & then I looked closer & of course it's a fruit he's crushing. But at first I was going with the heart-crushing thing, which made total sense in the context of the video. I'm glad to know somebody else picked up on that idea too.  I did too... The quick imagery of the red, shape, dripping and Adam's acting skill made me think at a glance it WAS a heart - so the imagery seemed to work for many... |

Dark Adam is definitely crushing a pomegranate, but it looks very much like a heart and that's on purpose, I'm quite sure. If they'd wanted an actual heart in the vid, Ray Kay could have purchased a fake heart at the local prop shop for a few bucks, but I think they wanted people to be shocked for a moment, thinking that Dark Adam was crushing a heart in his hands. And then we zoom in and it's clearly a fruit. The symbolism of the pomegranate is mainly tied to Greek mythology: The myth of Persephone, the goddess of the Underworld, also prominently features the pomegranate. In one version of Greek mythology, Persephone was kidnapped by Hades and taken off to live in the underworld as his wife. Her mother, Demeter (goddess of the Harvest), went into mourning for her lost daughter and thus all green things ceased to grow. Zeus, the highest ranking of the Greek gods, could not allow the Earth to die, so he commanded Hades to return Persephone. It was the rule of the Fates that anyone who consumed food or drink in the Underworld was doomed to spend eternity there. Persephone had no food, but Hades tricked her into eating six pomegranate seeds while she was still his prisoner and so, because of this, she was condemned to spend six months in the Underworld every year. During these six months, when Persephone is sitting on the throne of the Underworld next to her husband Hades, her mother Demeter mourns and no longer gives fertility to the earth. This became an ancient Greek explanation for the seasons.
