Fun surprises this morning! Like that little clip with David A and Paula. How long ago was that, I wonder? And Marry The Night was a highlight of Adam on Glee. A highlight of MANY, I should say! It was too late for me to respond to lat night's comments about favorite Adam Idol songs. I love to go back to "If I Can't Have You" and "Beth." I esp. love IICHY. Paul almost fainted after he sang it. And Simon even managed to gush a bit after that song. And "Beth" was a sweet surprise snippet just before Adam turned around and sang with KISS. Ahhh, those were the days. Season 8 turned Idol on its head. Loved his look when he sang Beth....and that twinkle in his eyes when he sang "up all night" lol.

Keith Urban (before he became an Idol judge) said in an interview once that he was amazed when he saw Adam turn IIHY into a torch song. I just read an article about Jelly Roll. I knew he had been to jail when he was younger but he turned his life around. Now at 39, he's had two Grammy nominations (one for bests new artist) and has won or been nominated for numerous awards in rock, Alt, and country. But what I didn't know was he had been to prison for aggravated robbery and another time for multiple drug selling offenses. And I knew that Chris Brown had won and been nominated for multiple Grammy's after his attack on Rihanna. They both get great radio play on multiple charts. While I believe in second chances, who knew the industry was so forgiving for some? Makes me wonder what and why some offences or missteps are so egregious that one has to work so very hard to overcome either particularly or if they are ever truly forgiven at all. Maybe Diddy will be lucky and won't have too much to worry about and his career will move on as usual. Don't care for Diddy, never did. There is something about him I just don't like.

Madison G. was at it again! Gotta give it to her...she's putting her money where her mouth is, as the saying goes. Thank you, Madison G. ETA: really loved this guy's reaction, and how he explains at the end that the song applies to all kinds of situations and relationships. That's one of my favorite songs on Velvet.

Closer to You is one of those Adam songs that make it hard for me to breathe, lol. It is the type of song that has a universal message that everyone can relate to. The emotion and vocals would have made it Grammy worthy if it had been released and pushed by a major label to multiple charts and found a wider audience. Being an outstanding vocalist, should have been Adam's superpower instead to them trying to make him blend in with everyone else. I really hope to see more of this type of music from him. Nothing wrong about displaying great and unique talent if you have it. Imo, Adam has songs (only his fans would know) that can compete with TSMG and WWTLF if given a chance. But as much as I love his emotional ballads, I love his rocker side too. HA.

The weird thing is that I could not get into the song on the CD for some reason, but that live performance is on top of my list of best Adam performances ever, sharing the spot with WWTLF from the Isle Of Wight festival... I also suspect that Adam really liked how the live session turned out, as he did not try to re-do the song to fix the one lyric fail.

I still cannot forgive Dr. Luke for ruining the production. The Bruno Mars demo has this little ta-ti-ta-tum-ti-dum melody between the verse's lines that I still hum in my head when I hear Adam sing it. https%3A//soundcloud.com/noestefi/bruno-mars-never-close-our-eyes-unreleased
