Just a thought, it seems amazing to me that Taylor Swift dropping an album has become the news for two days. Except for our former president's legal issues, this is all I am seeing on the news. When we talk about label support that Adam never really got and then look at someone like Taylor Swift (not nearly as talented), it sets my head spinning. BTW, not meant to be negative about Taylor, she is not my type of musician for several reasons, but I give her kudos for getting where she is. Just wish it was Adam, as well

Just wish it was Adam, as well To be honest, most people wouldn’t want to swap with Taylor. It seems like (and I hope), that she can really deal with that kind of mega-fame. But it comes with a lot of sacrifices. I think Adam is fine with his kind of life, where he can still usually walk the streets without being recognized by people.

That is somewhat misleading and not what Adam said. While it is true that gay contestants were not taken seriously on Idol, that was hardly the case with Adam. And Adam has said over and over again that his time on Idol was a positive one. And they loved him and so wanted him to win. So the joke was not on Idol but on the voters who refused to give him the win. And some fans of Kris spent years complaining about the winner not getting the attention and having the success that Adam had. Idol invited Adam (and Carrie) back more than any other former contestants. In fact, he was the first former Idol to mentor (mentored multiple times) and the first to guest judge (Kelly the only other one). Adam, Carrie, Kelly and Jhud are the main ones used in Idol promotions. So I give Idol credit for treating Adam with respect and not exploiting him or his sexuality when the photo of him kissing an ex were so interesting to the media with manufactured drama. His first performance after the photos surfaced was Black or White by Michael Jackson. Adam sorta teared up when the judges and even Simon gave him so much high praise. I think Adam really needed that validation and virtual hug at that time. And he never stopped rocking then or now. HA.

Agree, Lurleene. Adam has never said anything negative about Idol, at least not that I've seen or heard.

Don't need Adam to be on Taylor's level, but it would have been great if major labels had pushed and supported some of Adam's really good works instead of MM/Dr Luke only all the time. Adam has some Grammy worthy songs with great vocals and emotion (that was different than what is mostly out there) if they had ever been given a chance. The labels never seemed to be able to capture what his Idol appeal was all about. He was a major talent that stood apart and was unlike everyone else. Instead the labels just put him in one watered down box and left him there. But with talent and charisma, he was able to overcome it to some degree and ended up with wonderful success in a different way.
