I was a bit late checking yesterday's threads, so I'll just reply now.
That Billboard list of the most successful Idols was pretty predictable. It's the same four or five at the top, depending on the criteria. Interesting that several of those top ones have expanded beyond the "album/tour, album/tour" cycle. Kelly has her TV show and product endorsements, JHud has her show, too, and has done some acting. and Adam has done some live acting, and some animation voice work, and his judging, etc. I don't even know if Kellu and JHud continue to work on new music/tours at this point. Maybe they do, but I'm not aware of it. My point is that the top names are career-driven, have "celebrity" types of personalities (very important, IMO) and are able to diversify their careers by using their many talents.
Also, as posted on yesterday's thread, I was excited to see Adam come up on the Jeopardy Masters show yesterday! The answer was "Queen" and the contestant got it right away. Always great to see Adam's name show up on TV!

And no, I haven't forgotten some of the AI contestants who have had success in acting. Katherine McPhee, for example, and a few others. Credit where credit is due. Not every AI alum has found their major success in albums/touring.
Excited about Adam's new music, and I hope a great album will be the result!

There is an African American gay singer on The Voice. I don't know if he will win tonight but he has a great and powerful vocal talent. And to me the best of the lot. But whatever happens with him, with a voice like that, I hope his team will encourage him to go R&B and not push him into dance music. He has a wonderful voice and there has to be a place for gay men with extraordinary voices to excel in some of these other disciplines like Rock, Country and R&B. Why should any doors be shut to them? Elton, Freddie, Bowie, Luther Vandross and Rob Halford did it but before anyone knew their sexuality. LGBT women seem to be able to thrive and have done well and are accepted in all genres but the men not so much. Kehlani and Janelle Monae are succeeding in R&B. Melissa Etheridge, Brandi Carlile, Brittany Howard and St. Vincent in rock. Brandi Carlile also in country. One of the Brothers Osborn (the younger brother) came out as gay a few years ago but they had already won country awards and had hits for years before he came out. I think (hope) they are still doing okay. It seems it is time to throw away the boxes and open up the doors for the gay male artists, with big talent, in all genres. They need to appeal to a broader audience to thrive because the support is not always there in just their community. Every artist (gay and straight) need to appeal to a wider audience.
So happy that Adam has a diverse career and great success beyond only his early chart success. But still wish more could witness his vocal talent and some of his best works outside of Queen and tribute cover songs.

I agree those top four always are the same people, but I have seen them in different orders. I guess it depends on criteria. To me the actual most successful should be JHud as she is an EGOT winner. Yet, her net worth seems usually to be lower than Adam's. With Kelly's TV show for the last 3-4 years and she being nominated for Emmy's for at least two of them, I am surprised her net worth is not more than shown. I always wonder where and who determines someone's net worth. it seems it must be a guess at best. Hoping to see some of Adam from China. I LOVE the song with Vincint. I have enjoyed Vincint's voice since I first heard him. So funny, in the video, since it is a bit dark, it looked like Vincint with rubbing Adam's rear end. Of course, he is not, but I had to look twice.

celebrity net worth is usually what all the publications use so they must think they are somewhat on the money. I would guess they have more access to records and data than fans would have. But if they are wrong for Idols, they would be wrong for country artists, rappers, movie stars and all artists too. One thing to notice is they don't always update everyone on a regular basis. For Adam, his last update was before his last N/A and Asia tour with Queen and his smaller solo tours and recent judging. Jennifer has not been updated since her new show started. She does not tour like Adam so she is behind him for now but could pull ahead with her show. I don't think she is one of those really highly paid actresses. Brian and Roger have been recently updated so maybe Adam's will update soon. Kelly's was recently updated but it did not increase by more than $5M. Could be the money from her tv show has not paid off big yet but it will eventually. But based on what they listed for her income in her divorce settlement and what she had to pay the ex, what has been posted seems about right. I have no reason to doubt that Carrie, Kelly, Adam and Jennifer are the highest earners based on what they have done. The order may eventually change for Adam and Jennifer but it would be hard for any other Idol to pass him anytime soon.

He desperately needs some vocal training on breathing though...he takes breaths in the worst places and is really limited because of that...it is odd, actually, that he would have such problems there yet sound so great otherwise. I hope he does something about that...if he can't increase his lung capacity, then at least stop taking a breath mid sentence....sheesh... I would love to see him win though, but I think the rocker guy in John Legend's team may... but who knows...lol

I wonder what Kelly's and JHud's net worth would be if they just did albums and album tours.

I just wonder how they would be getting personal financial information. That is why I think it is a guess. Educated guess, yes, but still a guess.

HA. Agree about the breaths and also about the rocker probably winning.
