The rumor is about Adam replacing Eddie in Cabaret on Broadway. Layton Williams is doing the role now in the West End.

Wait, now I'm confused. We started out talking about Broadway, and now we're talking about West End. The rumor about Adam is about which one ?? I thought it was about Broadway. The discussion is about Broadway. I would be surprised if Layton were imported for the Broadway production - maybe the article quackn saw was about the West End - but time will tell.

Lol….I was just putting forward another scenario as I remembered that Adam has seen cabaret in London twice (with Jake Shears and Eddie)…(Has he seen it on Broadway?)
And as I said, London loves Adam and he has great connections here. And the role becomes free in September…
Never mind….just wishful thinking on my part 😂🤣 but you never know your luck…

Obviously my brain isn't good at multitasking lol.

I'm out of the loop, lol. Heard of Cabaret but not familiar with it. I know Chicago and JCS and loved them. I pulled up a few clips but the singing that I saw/heard was a little strange. I even looked up the Tony performance by Eddie. Didn't enjoy him enough to look for more (but I will look for more if Adam gets the role). Are there any showstopping songs for Adam to showoff? But if everyone else is excited and thinks it would be great for Adam then my fingers are crossed. HA.

Lurleene, Cabaret is really a great show with big musical numbers and a rather dark under-story. The emcee sets the tone and holds the story together throughout the show as the characters perform in the cabaret club in pre-war Germany. Joel Grey created the role originally. It's campy and dark and a bit sinister. Of course, Liza Minelli starred in the movie version. This would be a real coup for Adam. Many in the he audiences would be seeing and hearing him for the first time. And it might lead to more roles, who knows. I don't want to jump the gun too soon.

When I posted about Layton on page 2 … I knew/know nothing about the diff between Broadway and the West End shows (London) OMG… HOW EASY RUMOURS CAN GET TWISTED, I saw the original Cats, and the original Evita on the West End in London over 35 years ago! I will never forget… But I so want to get to Broadway especially if Adam is in the show. Cover is a great show!
