The question is how many invitations to these high profile places he'll get after just coming out with something called C...y. I haven't been to this site for several months, but every once in awhile I will drop by to see what Adam's up to. I should know better than to check during pride month. Someone here said they found all his playing dress up, partying etc. boring and I couldn't agree more. I'm pretty liberal and certainly don't care if people are straight or gay but I'm beginning to see Adam as more of an in your face I'll do what I want and if you don't like you must be ignorant kind of gay. This new EP would have been fine but once again he took the in your face route when naming the songs. He knew it would provoke people and I think it shows some level of disrespect for his fans that have stuck with over the years. That's a big assumption imo. He's a man with many facets to his personality, like we all are, and this album reflects his feelings of liberation and freedom to make the kind of unfiltered songs he wants to put out in this moment in time. I don't think there was any "in your face" intentional "disrespect for his fans".. he's putting out songs he wants to without filters, and being direct about calling the songs what they are. I don't feel disrespected as a fan and I've been a fan since AI. It's almost like saying that the fans who don't like this new direction are disrespecting Adam's choices.. The truth is that Adam puts out what he wants, and the fans can either like or dislike it, support or not support, but I for one am happy for him after all these years that he now feels free enough to be able to experiment with different musical directions like this current one. I like these songs that get you moving, and, although a little surprised in the beginning by the directness of the titles, am not offended by the titles. I think Adam explained his intentions with the song title really well during this interview with Andy.

Adam is always looking for a response. And, quite honestly, I have always seen him as the I'll do what I want, and if you don't like it, you don't need to listen person. I would not say he is being disrespectful to his OG fans (me being one). He has been very open about being a gay man. This time around he is making music to appeal to a particular group. I don't believe that disrespects anyone else.

The question is how many invitations to these high profile places he'll get after just coming out with something called C...y. IMO, this EP won't make any difference. He is still well respected and very talented. I doubt that he would be singing any of this new EP at high profile events. And, if I understand correctly, if he is hired for a private party they have the right to ask for certain songs.

I don't post very often; prefer to sit in the weeds and read the news and comments but...I'm 72 years old do I think I can safely put myself into the older fan category. I'm chuckling a little over all of the angst over what are Just Songs. I guess I'm weird cause the titles don't bother me in the least but then again, I live with teenage grandchildren and have heard wilder things with the rap they play. You want to talk about denigrating female language? But they don't think on the words; just the music/rhythm. Adam can do as he damn pleases and I'll go along for the ride. In fact, his new stuff is on my running playlist and they get me into a nice run pace. Just have to be careful cause I start singing along and someone is going to catch me singing cvnty when I do it sooner or later.

I follow another artist that's been pretty much the same for the last 20 years, but that just isn't Adam. I'm not buying this EP because I just don't care for this kind of music, but I'm so excited to see what else he has going on. He's been such a busy boy, and if rumors are true, and per his interview with Andy, he'll be busy this fall. Can't wait.
