I don't post very often; prefer to sit in the weeds and read the news and comments but...I'm 72 years old do I think I can safely put myself into the older fan category. I'm chuckling a little over all of the angst over what are Just Songs. I guess I'm weird cause the titles don't bother me in the least but then again, I live with teenage grandchildren and have heard wilder things with the rap they play. You want to talk about denigrating female language? But they don't think on the words; just the music/rhythm. Adam can do as he damn pleases and I'll go along for the ride. In fact, his new stuff is on my running playlist and they get me into a nice run pace. Just have to be careful cause I start singing along and someone is going to catch me singing cvnty when I do it sooner or later. Or they'll catch you singing about Lube and sliding right on in. You'll get a few raised eyebrows for sure  |

Well, I have been waiting for that rock album from Adam for 15 long years (with some power ballads included of course). I have little hope that it will happen. But it matters little to me how many times fans say Adam will do the music he wants (no one has said otherwise), I still crave for that rock album from him anyway. This EP was something that means a lot to him, so for that reason I am thrilled for him. It makes him happy. But lyrics, tho crude, (and I am not at all interested in an artist's sex escapades, gay or straight) are not the reason I will pass. I just don't care for most disco, EDM, dance music. To me, it feels like throw away music and great vocals are not needed. Adam said if you don't like it, don't listen or buy. Tho sadly, I must admit, if he had put those same crass lyrics (hopefully he would leave out the c-word) into a rock album, I would have ordered several copies by now, for myself, friends and relatives as I have done in the past. HA.

Had some personal stuff going on and just catching up with the whirlwind of the last few days.
Watch what happens is always fun. Stonewall was fab and terrific to see Adam in the mix with shakers and bakers. Super interested in what's up in the Fall. Assume he will have to come back to Oz for last The Voice show which is only one where public gets to vote and so will have to get filmed live...

The question is how many invitations to these high profile places he'll get after just coming out with something called C...y.Bri As long as he’s considered Queen‘s current frontman and is willing to sing Queen songs at such events, they will book him. He may sing a handful of his own most known songs plus Queen songs. I don’t think that a band with so liberal, so in your face parties where there was quite the representation of LGBTQIA (or a bunch of those identifiers even if some weren’t used then), could be so offended by Adam’s foray into revealing to the broader public another facet of himself that they would disassociate themselves from him. However, I have felt some sort of distance or something that I can’t articulate between Adam and Queen for a little while now. Brian and Queen Official seem to still be following him, and there are some pictures on Roger’s and Brian’s Instagrams with Adam in them, but at least for now, Adam has buried his past in favor of only things to do with “Afters”. This, at least for now, failure to acknowledge what he has said on multiple occasions have been his biggest mentors is strange, and I feel, a bit dismissive. I know we all know that without Adam, Brian and Roger wouldn’t have been able to perform like they have in their older years. On the flip side, I’m pretty sure that while Adam would be known, he wouldn’t be nearly as famous as he is today without that “Queen Frontman” title. It remains one of his main roles, and thus he still uses it as he deems advantageous, but not so much. Yes, everyone changes and perhaps—I hope—he will restore these pictures. I don’t just mean those with QAL because he had representations of his whole journey, solo or otherwise, for all to see. On a side note, will Adam be restricted from what Queen songs he can perform since the new Disney buyout, or is that not an issue as he holds the frontman title? |
