Christopher Young @chrisyoungx22 It’s also interesting that Adam’s chosen to sing this song in a higher key which suits his voice so nicely

www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/comments/1fihdxy/1st_look_at_adam_lambert_and_aulii_cravalho_in/?sort=newSome comments.. FinnyousI studied opera and vocal performance for many years and have seen some of what I consider to the be the best singers in the world live. I saw Adam Lambert with Queen a few years ago and was COMPLETELY blown away. That guy is in the top .01% of the best singers alive today. I'd love to see him do this. Frankly I'd love to see him do most anything again. DarcyIsPhoenixI saw them on opening night and here are my thoughts for anyone who is interested. Mind you, I did not see Eddie and Gayle so I don't have anything to go off of in comparison here. Adam's voice was unlike anything I've heard on broadway, in a good way. He was able to bring a really dynamic balance to the character. It did seem like he had some debut jitters around the comedy bits. Meaning that where he could have leaned in really hard to the crowd work or goofiness, he seemed to hold back. I really hope to go see the show again in February to see how his comfort levels have changed with the role. As for Auli'i - I actually really enjoyed her youth here. It was a bit jarring but she brought a level of chaotic energy to the role that I really enjoyed. It felt less like watching a seasoned and exhausted woman and more like an immature and excitable young adult. It was clear she was also nervous with some of her over the top screams but I think she will learn to reign in some of the "over the top" energy as she continues with the role. All in all, it was a really fun night and Bebe Neuwirth was an absolute gem. JuliaThorne071180It's a very different show. I went to Adam's first show. He is really good. The man can sing. Beautifully. I preferred Eddie's physicality. I'd never expect Adam to move like that. Eddie studied that for months, apparently. And it looked painful! Adam is wonderful and very Broadway. Fans will love him, I think. I loved him. In a different way from Eddie. I didn't like her at ALL. She looks like a child next to everybody. She's not seasoned enough. It's not because she's new to the show either. She's just too young. And she looks too young. She's not a strong enough actress overall, in my opinion. She's also trying to scream like Gayle did. That worked on Gayle. It's not going to work with Auli'i. Not 6-8 shows a week for months. She's a good singer. She's going to damage her voice. She's just.... not good. It's too bad because this production, this version, is really cool, very sophisticated and fresh. I wish they had really considered the age, stature, and experience of who they cast as Sally Bowles. =(

Enjoying with whole big thread very much! Adam looks fabulous and the feedback we have so far has been positive.
I know I'm totally biased, but I predict that Adam's performances will get strong buzz and attract ticket buyers. As the "no reviews for replacement casts," I hope that anyone who loves Adam in this show will get it out there on social media and spread the word! Love how Adam's long-time friends are there to support him. He is so well-loved.
