Folks, was BTIKM on VH1 countdown this morning as promissed? and if yes - what place was it in? tx (sorry I scrolled thru the thread but did not see any references and I am afraid they did not play the MV again... hope I am wrong) #17. Full play. :D |

I agree with Cassie's sentiment that the NME article is so absurdly ridiculous that imo it is done on purpose: mock critical journalism in an ass-backwards kind-of-way. The author actually references THE infamous NME article from 1977. "Is this guy a prat?", which ridiculed Freddie and Queen and predicted their demise. I decided just for laughs to look that article up. Could not find an original scan but here is the text retained on the Queenonline website: www.queenonline.com/en/the-band/interviews/freddie-mercury/is-this-man-a-prat-/Interesting read in more ways than one. Definitely recommend it. As we all know how Queen's success turned out, how right Freddie was with everything he said during that confrontational interview and how wrong every prediction by the NME reporter turned out to be, quoting this article imo means that the author wants to say: By any logical reason, putting an American Idol kid at the front of the legendary band Queen at Knebworth in 2012 is totally nuts, but Queen has beaten the odds of "being nuts" before. This article is this journalist's personal version of an "Is this guy a prat?" article, imo. It will generate debate and hopefully make people interested in checking this out for themselves. Actually, I'd like Brian May to do a "neener neener - you were wrong about Freddie, and you're wrong about Adam too {raspberry}" ;D , but I think there's a few concerts to get through first. :D BTW, bb, not every post gets answers, particularly when things are running fast. I'm on yesterday page but I come here just to say thank you to all for great job you always do.You guys melt my heart ones again today!
