Just watched the EMA performance again. Blows me away every time. What better tribute could Queen fans wish for? Their music is iconic. Freddie poured his heart and soul into the music, and, ultimately damaged his voice giving his fans his all. Still, he kept performing, kept creating music, no matter how sick he became, and his ultimate song was "The Show Must Go On!" Wouldn't this be Freddie's fondest wish? That his music would live on to ignite excitement not only in his oldest fans, but also in future generations? That someone would assume the mantle and sing those songs with the power and passion he once did at his prime? That someone who had been captivated and entranced with his music and his performance, an outsider who had been encouraged and comforted by his performances, who stood in front of the mirror pretending to be a rock star like him, would, one day in the future, stand on the global stage with his band mates and make his music once again come alive? What better tribute and homage could be paid to his legacy? He wouldn't want his body of work enshrined in a mausoleum somewhere, never to be heard and seen live again. If Freddie is somewhere looking down on this earth, I think he would get a kick out of seeing a kid he inspired sing the hell out of his songs. It's all win! I love this post cassie ... it makes me feel happy .. I think every Queen fan should read this - THANK YOU !!

It's all win! cassie... thank you for putting into words what I am thinking and just can't elaborate it as you did. I was also thinking about how the universe really alligned for Queen and Adam. Brian and Roger are both creative artists who are not only proud of their music but also want their music to be heard and be introduced to the new generation, hence the projects WWRY Broadway Musical (I believe will be on its 10th year) and the Tribute Band that still has to start this year. They also tried to collaborate with younger artists then such as George Michael but just as Michael did, they want to pursue their career as a solo artists and not as a Queen frontman/replacement for Freddie. They finally settled on Paul Rogers who gave the Queen music a different flavor and they also split up in 2008. Here comes Adam in 2009. Caught their attention but I think that was too early for any collaboration but they were thinking about it... and if we think the Queen fans are complaining about how inexperienced Adam is now, can you imagine how much flak he would have gotten then? Yes, they could have their pick of a guests at the EMA since there are more popular/well known artists who covered the Queen songs before but they decided on Adam. Wow! And to think that the EMA performance inadvertently became an audition for Adam not just for the Queen group but for the Event organizers such as Sonisphere, Moscow, and we don't know of some others. The whole world will be watching not only the Moscow gig but also the Sonisphere and I'm sure Brian's phone will start ringing again for future another one-off ;D performance with Adam Lambert. For me, IMO, currently, Adam is the ultimate frontman to Queen's music (though, part time) . He is what Brian and Roger are searching for after Freddie passed away, to give justice to their music, not just singing the songs as it was musically (?) written but also interpret it the way they it was meant to be. I can't wait for June 30 and July 7 to happen. I am sure Adam will capture the passion and intensity of their music and more... I will be here joining the group who will be hanging on to every tweet and/or stream if we're lucky. I am pretty sure Queen will document all of these events and hopefully the BTS including rehearsals, too. We will flood Brian May's e-mail asking for a DVD release of Adam's performances with them. Wait till he gets a load of the Glamberts' obsession... in a good way, of course :D
