Adam Lambert is a tough act to follow. With all those flamboyant glam pop accents and the glittering stage persona, Lambert is hard to dismiss. However, as a musician wanting to be taken seriously, the razzle and dazzle is rather distracting, and no one understands this better than Lambert himself.
This is the reason why the former American Idol contestant has toned down his act – but just a tad – so that fans, and critics alike, will be able to take a peek behind the talent that’s obscured by feathers and boa.
“I felt like I had been waiting so long to just wear costumes and live this rockstar fantasy, which I did and it was really fun. I got to get really extreme with my fashion – with the photos and with the videos,” said Lambert, who is on the cover of the June 1 issue of Galaxie.
Despite an attempt to play down his flamboyance, Lambert still manages to take centre stage as the cover star. In his featured interview Lambert expounds on the creative process of working on his latest album Trespassing that’s raw and gritter than his debut release. Lambert fans will likely uncover that their idol is really putting his talent out there, as he releases an album that’s profoundly daring.
