" We need to make a BIG splash early on the iTunes UK chart, both on Sunday and Monday – we want to see NCOE in the Top 10 and get it as high as possible. How Adam fans *OUTSIDE the UK* can truly help THIS WEEKEND! Step 1: Set up a UK iTunes account (see directions; it works!) techjunkie.co.za/2009/10/15/create-a-uk-itunes-account-without-a-credit-card/Step 2: If you are financially able, donate the cost of a download ($2 US) or more by simply following the DONATE button on this page: requestadamlambert.com/2012/07/06/uk-ncoe-sales-push-donate-beginning-now . >>IMPORTANT: After entering how much you want to donate/gift, there is an option called “Add special instructions to the seller” – there you can insert your e-mail to the iTunes UK account. If you can’t get that to work, send us that iTunes UK e-mail at RequestAdam@aol.com … we need the download to arrive to you! Step 3: Once NCOE is available and you receive your gift, download ASAP to help drive the song up the iTunes chart on Sunday and Monday. NOTE 1: If you want to help but don’t have funds, that’s OK! Do Step 1 and set up the UK iTunes account and then e-mail us at RequestAdam@aol.com. The goal is to have extra funds to have those gifted. NOTE 2: If you want to help but can’t set up a UK iTunes account, that’s OK! Please donate if you can. It’s Important to EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE? Adam needs to have success with NCOE in a major music market. With the Queen concerts also happening in London, the timing is great for Adam to make a splash. However, we still need to do what we can. Having a good sales debut can have a dramatically positive impact on radio in the UK. So if NCOE does well on the sales chart, there is good chance Radio 1 (the other major UK radio player) will get on board! Also, any tangible success in the UK can only help things in the U.S., Canada and elsewhere! DISCLAIMERS: The PayPal funds being collected are being transferred in intervals to British Glamberts who are in place to follow through on the purchasing. It’s called TEAMWORK! If, for any reason, we end up with extra money that cannot go to single sales, we will have our British friends buy X number of physical Trespassing CDs in stores. "I just wanted to post rabbit's post again because this is SO INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT for radio play in the UK. The sales period for the single in the UK starts at midnight tonight UK time, which is 7pm today (Saturday) US Eastern time, so the time is now to act.

I don't know what the review says since I didn't google translate yet, but I love this photo of Queen. batina_daria @batinadaria Read another great review of Queen+Adam Lambert Moscow concert (Queenbert) hurricane19.livejournal.com/34069.htmlI wonder if we will see a different outfit or two tonight... I could see leopard pants making an appearance at some point, though would hate to see lace up leather pants retired - they are a personal fav ;D I'd love to see Adam's take on Rog's outfit -- looks like it could have come out of the mv for NCOE (style wise). Tiger and his Dad certainly favor each other.

Late to the conversation per usual, but wanted to thank Talon for such a well-written and thoughtful description of the Queen fandom.
Fandom is like religion...it doesn't make a whole lot of rational sense, everyone's version is slightly different, and it often fulfills a deep emotional need to be connected to something that seems bigger than the individual. Then you add in the primal response we get from the actual art--the music itself...no wonder it can get so intense. No surprise that some react the way they have to Queen 3.0, or 4.2, or whatever this is.
In a way, even when they're criticizing Adam, it really isn't personal. He's just not Freddie. Not Adam's fault and to his credit, I think he understands that.
Oh, and I did actually buy the Queen's GH album the other day as I lost my vinyl in some move or another in the past twenty years. Wouldn't have happened if not for Adam's involvement, so I guess I count as a former casual Queen fan who has now circled back!

Talon. Let me add my thanks for the perspective you add to our Queenbert discussions. I have a much better understanding. Human nature, perhaps? Wanting to hold on to the past, when, in hindsight, everything was better, more colorful, more joyous, more authentic, more simple, etc. etc. etc. I think we re-script our past to suit our current viewpoint and desires. Pesky things like time, reality, and change be damned! (Revisionist history) Queen has archived audio and video that they are miserly holding on to while producing drek now? Or could it be that they have material that they deemed unsuccessful or not of high enough quality to be released at the time, much less now? I think most artists have a ton of unreleased material in various states of completion. Adam, a new artist, already has perhaps another 30-40 songs we are likely never to hear. Just because it exists doesn't mean Queen or Adam have an obligation to fans to release something they are not completely happy with. The other frustrating thing to me is fans holding Roger or Brian or Adam to things they have said in the past, not allowing for change. If I was expected to still hold on to and honor statements and viewpoints I made up to 20 years ago, I would be in a shitload of trouble. Hell, I would still be married to a cheating, lying, abusive husband. Life is about change and about moving forward, which Adam embraces and champions, and which we love about him. I hope fans of both Queen and Adam can accept forward moves even when they disagree with the direction. And also allow for mistakes, false steps, take backs, and course corrections. Plus the occasional stupid ass "I can't believe I ever did/said/wore that." Okay, off my soapbox now. Preaching to the choir, as usual.

I had a vision that the colours had bled away and I had nothing to follow Was in a prison and my life was stuck on replay And all my wishes were hollow You were a beam of light Lit up my broken sky There was just something about you I had a vision and you painted the world for me and now I am laying beside youThese lyrics tie to the NCOE MV. I love how Adam makes these little connections, that tie the whole album up. I bet the next MV will continue this route. I can't wait .

I went over to the end of yesterday's thread to read Talon's great information on Queen history. Thank you for your perspective of the Adam/Queen collaboration. And, I thought Swarm's post at the end of the thread, also, had some very good points. Thank you. I love Atopia's diverse and informed community.
