I'm late to the party.... Late Late Show is TOO late for moi, so I recorded it and just watched it. Adam looked AMAZING and of course he killed the "amended" version of WATC, and GT. Personally, I much prefer his performances without the dancers -- to me, they are distracting and add nothing to the impact of the song. I agree with the person who commented that the guitar work on GT was a little substandard, but Adam put heart and soul into the performance. Gorgeous! Got a huge kick out of Sir Ian, and the other guest (James ???) is a real cutie. But there's no question who the star of the night was, and James Cordin, I'm NOT lookin' at you! ETA: Forgot to mention: YES to the pants!!!!! I don't understand the comments about about the guitar work. I've listened to it again with that in mind. Plus, it's an extremely easy guitar part--guy could probably play it while sleeping. What are people hearing that I am not? I also cannot hear anything wrong with the "Ghost Town" lead guitar. This is the same guitarist who accompanied Adam at the GMA and he played that guitar section twice with Adam and at least two other times for the audience with no issue. I am pretty sure he can actually play it in his sleep since he could play it at 6:00AM. >> I have not relistened to lat night's performance so maybe I missed something too. ETA: Oh I now see, the sound mix issue at the beginning and it not sounding like the recording. JMHO this was a live performance and the sound mix is never perfect on a live recording. Also, the guitar on the recording is modified a lot -- in subtle ways, but that is not "raw" music. The live guitar is always going to sound different. Just like Adam's live vocal sounds different.

I also needed to get to bed - busy schedule first thing in the morning.
Just finished going through the thread. No words really except perhaps the best seat in the house was watching him from the back. That gif! OMG!
Bama, I missed those pants too!
It was just beyond. I say that over and over again. Showed vid to DH. He remarked how Adam just gets better and better by the minute. He was very impressed as I am sure many who are seeing him for the first time would be. Sadly the world still divides into two groups - those who get it and those who don't. I said that to my DD and she said, no, there are those who just don't care. I will concede a third group - those that have been under and rock and never heard of him. As for the ones that just don't care, there are in the "don't get it" group who have my profound sympathy.
The press cycle from this is awesome - effusive praise for all things Adam. Comes at a great time for GT which again today is showing more market impact (Audience impression number) as it continues to show slow but steady growth on the charts. What a win this whole cycle has been. Just bursting!

Don't listen, watch. I don't think the guitar has ever been played live on this song, I'd just like the strumming movements to be somewhat in time with the sounds. When I watch the video the audio and video aren't perfectly in sync, so that's a bit of an issue for me. He is moving his strumming hand down and up in a steady eighth note pattern but only touching the strings on some of the strums. The down and up strokes change the order that the notes sound--low notes first for the down, and high first for the up. Is that what you are noticing? That could be it -- I didn't really listen to it carefully note by note, but something seemed a little off. Caissie, ITA -- when Adam is singing, who really cares what else is going on! (My main complaint when he has dancers is that sometimes the camera focuses momentarily on one of them instead of on Adam....)
