So, the Super Bowl ads included two Queen songs: Somebody to Love with the sheep and Another One Bites The Dust (one of the earlier ads of the evening). Wonder what Queen gets paid for the use of the songs? I'd love to see QAL perform at halftime. Lord knows their songs are used in sports arenas all the time. One commenter on the petition link said that he'd never want to see Queen perform on what he calls a lip-synched piece of crap, but I sure would love to see millions of viewers witness QAL for the first time and get a load of ADAM and his voice from heaven.

Saw this a couple of days ago and I laughed so hard. Haven't seen any of the others.

Her pronunciation was odd. Whatever. I wish whoever sings it would just sing it (Including Adam). Stop the playing around, stop making it the speed of a dirge - I have come to truly dislike it. Just my very personal opinion. YMMV. I absolutely agree with you. For those who can read music, here is something I think I got from Holst originally.

I thought she sang very well. It started out simply, so I had my fingers crossed. But it got melismatic as she went. As always, I prefer performances of the national anthem that showcase the song--not the singer, with people clapping for the singer in the middle of the song.

Y'know what kind of bugs me about Gaga and the anthem?? It's the fact that some people are STILL surprised that she is such a good singer. The same thing happened after she sang The Sound of Music last year. Why are so man people so surprised? It really shows that there is a belief out there that pop singers don't really have to be "good" singers. That they're allowed to be inferior as long as their popular. Sure, there is a wide range of vocal skill among the top pop singers (some not so good), but a number of them DO have very good voices. It just annoys me when someone says, "Wow! Gaga really CAN sing." Duh, of course she can. She's been doing it quite well for quite a while. Just getting this off my chest.
PS, just want to add that I am one of those who get weary of the unnecessary vocal gymnastics used by so many anthem singers. It gets kind of annoying and does the song no favors. It can drag the song out to an interminable length. Please, just sing it, sing it well, and let the game begin.
