I suppose we all have our special peeves... on this tour my major “look away” moment had nothing to do with Adam... it was the huge metallic morose looking Freddie’s head during the Machines.. just hated it’s macabre nature... so I was happy they replaced the number with DA.
former tours i’d Say the “fat ass b...” was my main peeve...

I am not sad QAL is on break --- because it is now time for solo Adam! Plus, we don't have long to wait for GCF concert. I enjoyed the tour very much but I'm glad Adam's solo stuff and promo are just around the corner, and then there's the Global Citizen Festival. I'm actually very tempted to try and make it to that since it's so close to Toronto. I'm just a bit scared of general admission crowds and I missed out on getting a ticket anyway. MeggyMeg, TM still has the VIP Prime tickets available! Expensive ($199) but still there.( no additional fees on TM!) Also plenty on StubHub!

Tho I have to admit the Freddie speech bothers me, more than it does others, so I rarely listen to it. That I do cringe on as I don't see that it helps him much or adds to the enjoyment of the show. Thankfully, he did tone it down for my show. However, it was a great tour so no real complaints. I wouldn't miss it if he would just drop it, but... Have you ever experienced the so-called Impostor Syndrome? It is a very real feeling of being inadequate and in the wrong place, and nobody but you knows that, but you feel like any moment now people will realize you are a fraud. It seems to be normal for people who excel in their field. I truly believe Adam Lambert is the best damn singer alive. He might be in the top ten of best singers ever, alive or dead. But if you would try to tell him that, he would totally reject the idea. A bunch of peers that know more about singing than me have stated it. In fact, both Brian May and Roger Taylor have pretty much said it outright ("I think he is the best singer around. I don't know anybody that can out sing Adam Lambert." - Roger Taylor). Even Marc Martel of all people gave an interview stating it. Adam feels the need to be humble and make sure people don't think he is full of himself because he is in Freddie's shoes, or that he is feeling entitled to be up there on the stage with rock'n'roll legends, continuing the legacy of a dead legend. For anyone who is there for Adam, it makes no difference during the show, in fact you can hear the voices of people like you and me telling him "You are Adam F***ing Lambert!" during the speech. But for the few people who had reservations before the show (there are always a few, and you can read Tweets from them after the show admitting how wrong they were), the contrast of the humility and the quality of the performance leads to a better final impression. It is kind of like "under-promise and over-deliver" that always beats "over-promise", even if the delivered product is the same. I like the "torch" version of the speech better, too... I found it very suspicious that he changed it around the time fans started complaining about the "pink elephant" on this Forum (and I guess in other media like Twitter). I wonder if the fanbase's opinion informed that change.

Given your post, Kryptoman, I always find it funny when non-fans say they don't like Adam because he's cocky and full of himself. A lot of those comments were flying around during his AI tenure, especially from jealous fans of other singers. I think he's the least cocky or conceited celebrity I know.

Finally kinda caught up from my 900 mile RT to the last two concerts. Brief recap since you all have heard all the audio and watched many of TALC and others excellent vids. I'm looking forward to sitting down and watching both shows thru. We arrived in ATL the day before so we wouldn't be so rushed on concert day and you can't ever tell about the horrible traffic there. We stayed at The Embassy Suites right at Centennial Park and about 2 blocks from the arena. We didn't realize it but The Tabernacle was only a block away. We had always approached it from the opposite direction. I wore a QAL tshirt around and had several folks approach me who were so excited for the show. A couple in the park were from So Carolina and loved Adam and went on and on about him. We met and visited with a family from Jacksonvile Fla for a good while. They were also huge Adam fans. The mother said she lurks here...lol...waves. They gave us both those little Velvet promo cards that they had picked off the floor at the venue. We had missed seeing those on display or being handed out. Don't know why there were a bunch on the floor. In Charlotte we struck up a convo with several gals at the VIP table. They wound up sitting a few rows behind us. They were big Adam fans as well. At breakfast in Charlotte....we stayed at the Hyatt right next to the venue....we talked with a husband and wife and another man who loved Adam as well as Queen. All this to say......that with each convo with random fans in both cities....they mentioned and talked all about Adam.....how he should have won Idol and how fantastic he was in every way, etc. He was the main topic of conversation....initiated by them. I liked that!
We had our best seats of the three shows in Atlanta...Row 2 seats 1 and 2 Adam side on the rail. It was actually better than Row 1 where the permanent camera man stayed. Adam spent a whole lot of time right there in front of us at the beginning of the thrust and also a little bit to the left of the cameraman. We could almost touch him. He looked into and played to the camera there which was shown on the big screens. He had the whole show down pat.....to a science. He looked into our area a lot and Justwishin and I got some direct eye contact....as did others. Sandysva was sitting close to us as well. We were all singing along enthusiastically and animated and he loves that. We were totally drowned in confetti at the end.
In Charlotte, we had the least best seats of our 3 shows, but they weren't bad. They were the cheaper VIP seats, about half the cost of the Gold ones in Atlanta. On the side of the Bstage on Brian's side at the rail. Tickets for all three shows were bought in presale with the hopes of a Gaga handshake....lol. When we first got to our seats, there was a very tall...like 6'4" dude on the rail and I thought I wouldn't be able to see well....but it turned out fine. He stood, but didn't move so I was able to have a clear view just over his shoulder. And next to the tall guy and his gf was a married middle aged gay couple who were huge Adam fans. They knew about as many details about Adam as we did. Had seen him many times, etc. One of the guys was like 6'5"..bigger and taller than the guy on the rail and built like a prof body builder. The row in front of us looked like the offensive line of a prof football team...lol. WE were really lucky to have front row center Bstage views in Nashville for the few songs done on the Bstage....but the majority of songs are done on the main stage so we had that experience in Atlanta. With the final show, we were back far enough to be able to take in more of the show as an entire show.
Hard to compare my three shows.....I thought Nashville had powerful vocals...like on TSMGO and the ending of WATC, etc. Charlotte had similar vocals with all the curlyques. Don't know if it was the location, but the crowd feel in Charlotte seemed to be the best. Seemed like more energy in the room and everybody on stage seemed to be excited about the last show too. We almost thought we shouldn't make the long drive to Charlotte, but so glad we did. The audience and Adam and the whole band seemed to be having a ball and the band appeared grateful for the experience at this "wrap up" of the US leg of The Rhapsody Tour.

Thanks, Bamafan! So nice to hear that there are so many Adam fans around, with or without QAL.
You must be tired...that was quite the trip!

Thanks nica575 and SophieB and svca! This time we did fewer shows and splurged for better seats. I imagine next summer SophieB The Rhapsody tour will culminate in the UK.....for your viewing pleasure...lol In the meantime.......bring on Velvet! And yes, I'm tired. 900 miles is a lot of driving...lol. Only for AFL would I do that.
