I am glad to hear Adam say he is a bit of a hypochondriac about his voice. IN the past he has said he doesn't do anything special for it, which bothered me a bit. The shows with Queen several times a week are very taxing on his voice for a variety of reasons: the range, the energy, the power, the amount and length of time actually singing, the multi-tasking of voice production, interpretation, movement around the stage, interaction with the band, interaction with the audience. It would be almost expected that his voice would suffer fatigue, especially if he is ignoring the demands as he has alluded to in the past.
Hearing him sing so well night after night, I have believed he must be taking very good care of his instrument. It was a relief to hear him acknowledge that. He has years of excellent vocal training to rely on. As long as he keeps in the forefront of his mind that he MUST make keeping his voice healthy as a high priority, he will be okay.

Oh I am now happy -- after missing most of the QAL 2019 tour, I can be in LA on the 21st. Now I just need to get a ticket!

Nice interview with Mario Lopez. They always have pretty nice conversations. And yeah, that swimming pool story took me by surprise. I just assumed the pool was already there when he moved in. But no, he was talked into it. Now it seems that nobody wants a house without a full-depth pool. Oh well. Live and learn. Someone will buy it eventually. I'm sure Adam will be glad to be rid of it. Nice that Terrence is there hanging out with Adam and Javi. Too bad about losing his phone. What a PAIN that must be I'd sure hate to lose mine. And Javi looks very adorable in the whiskers. It would only cost about $20K to break the pool and fill it in. I have had it done twice. I think there are other problems with that house. He could probably sell it at a big loss but I think it is much more than a pool issue.

These intimate venues that Adam is playing may not be what his actual planned tour will be. Tho Foxwood Casino would be in line with what he will probably do with a regular tour. But as much as we dismiss the importance of radio, if you are not getting a ton of it to go with the streaming, you are unlikely to get the big hits and play arenas. And all of those playing arenas are not always the best singers or greatest performers but they are getting radio hits. The ones playing arenas without the big hits are acts who got them long ago. And they built up a huge following who still want to see them. And many of the rappers, with the huge streaming numbers and playing arenas, are touring with multiple acts. So Adam's tour sizes will be in line with his solo exposure. If it were based on talent, he would be playing stadiums, lol. I think Adam's actual solo tour will be the same mid-sized venues that he had on his last tours. It's just the reality of where he stands in the hierarchy of singers. Good radio play would help, of course. And he just might get some, more than we might think. As to singers in general and their success, I think it has ALWAYS been true for decades and decades, ever since the phonograph and the radio were invented, that hugely successful singers aren't always the most talented singers. Doesn't matter. It's a combination of the song, the delivery of the song, and the connection that the singer has with the audience. Voice quality and pure talent has little to do with it. Never has. Adam has a niche in the music industry. He has fiercely loyal fans. He also has earned some healthy respect in the music industry. He networks well. He gets pretty high-profile gigs on his own. QAL has given him immense cred and an international profile. Talent, personality and charisma doesn't always fill arenas. We stream, we view, we buy, we love the guy. I think so too. Adam has played at the 4k seat Foxwood Grand a few times and sold it out. I have been there a few times but never when Adam was there. Seems I was never visiting the area when he was there. Carrie played there when I was in town once but I didn't bother.
