So... killing people is “law and order”? Gassing peaceful protesters is “law and order”? there are always criminal element and extremist agitators Making things worse, none of which changes the original narrative... On the lighter side - I couldn’t bring myself to watch Anything on HeWhoCannot amed TV, let alone Tucker... not even that video Adam referred to... you are right, the close contact protests , even majority masked, will bring the new explosion of Covid cases ... all of it is a real tragedy, losing over a hundred thousand Americans should be important to the so called “pro life” party, but for some reason not this time... oh well... there is still hope this democracy will survive... On the other hand.....maybe all the protestors crammed together will not explode Covid 19 and that might be a good thing as far as looking ahead to re opening and moving ahead economically. No. killing innocent people isn't law and order. George Floyd's killing was a murder plane and simple. I don't necessarily think defunding police is the answer, but better training and a re-vamping of police depts would be a good thing. And I think peaceful protests as outlined in the constitution are great. It's the criminal destruction and looting that takes advantage of the peaceful protests that are a problem that thev have to be dealt with. The rioting is undermining the focus of the unjustices.Totally agree. What happened at the Lafayette Park was an abomination, totally unconstitutional and un democratic... as far as Covid - do you believe in miracles? Why would it not spread? What changed? Here in NYC we are supposed to finally open into phase 1 this coming Monday. If the cases go up over the established thresholds we are going back to closing things... makes me sick to even think about it...not to mention “close to my skin” situation where my DD just 2 weeks ago started doing normal professional stuff. I can’t even imagine her going back to the horror of COVID ICU, living with the constant fear of infection...I think it’s easy to dismiss the seriousness of this beast unless it gets close and bites... politically motivated ignorance will not change the facts, will not prevent the deaths, calling it pneumonia doesn’t change a thing...

I agree although she is very smart. I think the experiment is a great idea but why not choose journalists like Nicole Wallace (who worked on John McCain’s campaign) and Chris Wallace who is more conservative. I’m just suggesting the difference between advocacy journalism and opinion journalism. Just a thought. Rachel is a national treasure. She doesn’t just talk, she effects change, she effects progress, she shines the light... Nicole Wallace is pretty good - I like the fact that she saw the light. Chris Wallace needs to do the same, he is too intelligent to be there... but I guess it pays his bills.... I agree Rachel is a national treasure but I just think that, for someone who is trying to absorb another point of view, Rachel might be too aggressive. To start.

I also do not support defunding police. I support demilitarizing the police, and reinvesting in community policing programs, civil rights protections, and oversight (all defunded over the past three years).

Bama, Rachel usually doesn't take her first breath until the 21-minute mark. She is rather long winded but gets to the point eventually. LOL!!! I am so glad you said that. I love Rachel. But sometimes it takes her so long to get to the point (about something I really want to hear) that I will switch the channel out of frustration and spite. Patience is not my strongest suit. HA.
For those wanting to listen to FOX I will pass. I actually listened to them in the past just to hear different viewpoints. That is how I discovered Adam. O'Rielly was going on about him with a sneaky hit job. And CNN had some effeminate overweight gay man (found out later he really disliked Adam) as a guest and he was painting Adam as a gay stereotype not to be taken as a serious contender. So I tuned into Idol with the hope the guy had some talent. What I found was the most talented, sexy and handsome man and I was hooked. HA. But getting back to FOX. I had to give them up during the Obama years. They were just unhinged over him and it was too much. Rarely bothered with them since.

I am not into astrology but I can't deny that I haven't had thoughts that the system needs to break down before things get better. It sure looks like it right now. The fact that our president feels the need to fence off the White House perimeter speaks for itself.

I’ve thought long and hard about whether to put my two cents in, but here it is. I truly don’t understand how apparently loving and caring people can listen to HeWhoCannot amed and believe in or agree with most of what he says. Don’t they hear the lies? Hear him saying something and then denying he even said it, when it’s right there for all to see? How do they reconcile comments like “You can grab them by the pussy”? How can they tolerate the reversal of regulations that are necessary (because corporations might not do it voluntarily) to preserve the environment? Do they really think that HeWhoCannot amed, a rich and privileged person with a history of cheating people, cares about them as anything other than a means to his hold on power? I don’t get it.
To bring it back to Adam, I’m glad he’s speaking his mind and trying to give voice to people who haven’t always been heard.

Thanks for posting this. Not only did I agree with the writer's review of Adam's album, but also with his review of Gaga's. I've listened to Chromatica, and liked it, but doubt I'll listen to it straight through again anytime soon. To me the overall effect was that it was one long song; kind of like eating too much candy at one sitting. I mention that because it makes for an interesting contrast with Velvet. Gaga has a sound that is very much her own, but on Chromatica the songs are relatively minor variations on the same sonic theme. With Velvet, Adam finally hit on a signature sound, but it's a signature sound in the service of many different musical styles and moods. I'm not expecting award recognition for it because it just isn't going to make that kind of commercial impact - unless it's submitted and effectively promoted to a far less competitive genre category than pop - but that doesn't change that it's a very accomplished, and very artistically mature, piece of work. As for the political discussion, all I'm going to say is that I'm very proud of Adam. I know there are those wounded by his "unfollow me/I will block" ultimatum to some of his commenters (or those who agree with said commenters), but I think the whole BLM movement hits on a "lines in the sand" issue that he just can't compromise on. It hits too close to home for him. Besides the fact that he has many dear friends who are black men - and besides the fact that the disproportionate instances of police brutality against black men should be an abomination to anyone - he himself is a gay Jew; a member of two groups with their own history of experiencing violent oppression. I suspect he would not be able to maintain an actual personal relationship with anyone who did not substantially agree with his views on these issues, so it makes sense he would not have any desire to see or interact with fans who do not. As Meggy Meg put it so aptly, this is not about whether pineapple belongs on a pizza. Or if his facial hair is flattering. Or whether we like what he's wearing. He's put up with a lot of intrusiveness and rudeness and unsolicited criticism about his appearance, his personal relationships and his career decisions without lowering the hammer. But this time his tipping point was reached, and IMO he has every right to decide what he is, or is not, willing to tolerate.

Thanks for posting this link. I am smiling as he gave Adam ***1/2 stars, a solid star more than Gaga. Cool that he likes "Roses" too but clearly he missed a lot of Adam stuff and not only the album release. Better late than never "First single “Roses,” a duet with Nile Rodgers (of Chic) has lovely hooks and atmosphere to spare. It’s a romantic kiss-off to a lover who offers gestures but little else."

TMZ just reviewed Brian's gardening accident. It was funny. They're my guilty pleasure and I need a few laughs. cleopatra I haven't said much because I would rather not get into politics on this site. I would prefer to celebrate Adam. I agree with everything you said and do support his position all the way. I think he just reached his breaking point. Apparently he also unfriended Tommy. Couple of other sites were talking about it. In the meantime I support Adam but prefer to discuss my politics elsewhere. Glad folks are reading the review in the Washington Blade. I hope Shosh will find a way to promote Velvet for awards season. It deserves it.

Did you see the Black Lives Matter signed painted on the street, that the mayor ok'd? Wow. So awesome!! And the painting started in the middle of the night The orange one on top will hopefully see it, despite his layers of barricades from the people.
