I saw that Q3 has proclaimed today Good News day. That's a wonderful idea and I want to support it, so here is my contribution. In April 2013, Google announced that Austin would be the second city in US to get ultra-high speed internet and I thought, "Hallelujah, sign me up!" Immediately, I signed up for the very reasonably priced internet/TV combo. Although I was not streaming a lot of TV at the time, I was well into my Adam obsession and what could be better than more Adam even faster. So time went on, Fiber was having some problems, but about 2016 they came and put a connection box on the side of my house and I thought, "Hallelujah, now we're getting somewhere!" By this time I was streaming more and my Adam obsession sure wasn't going anywhere, so I had to sign up for Spectrum's pricey higher speed service (not Google fast though) thinking it was only a matter of time before Google Fiber saved me. Well, here it is June 2020 and finally, on June 16, they are coming out to connect my Google Fiber service and for the 2013 monthly price. It only took seven years, but patience won out! Oh I am so jealous! I have Cox Premium which is excellent but not like Google Fiber.

A Good News day - Much needed for us all. My good news - My 11 month old granddaughter took her first steps today - Definitely a red letter day! And it was captured on video. How many of us wish it had been so easy to capture when ours were young. Other good news is that I am still employed at 73, working from home and extremely thankful for all my blessings. Dancy - You are in my thoughts - Sending good karma your way. Q3 - Hope all continues to go well for your brother. All be safe - Stay healthy. Now that is good news! Thanks for sharing.

My diagnostic procedure went well today, although I had a rough time coming out of anesthesia. My heart rate and was very low for awhile (has happened before) before returning to normal. And my blood pressure was rather low and then went rather high before settling to my normal.
They found 3 polyps, which likely accounts for some of my symptoms, and scraped them out. Will be 3-5 days before I get the pathology report about cancer or no-cancer.
My friend picked me up, drove me through a drive through pharmacy to get the pain meds, and then to pick out a take out food order. So far the pain meds they gave me there are working well. I am just very sleepy now. Time for a nap.
THANKS FOR ALL THE WELL WISHES!!!

Omg, that Adam Rippon tweet is hilarious!
DancyGeorgia, glad it went well, but scary coming out of anaesthesia like that. The last time I had surgery, I couldn't breathe when they woke me up, and they had to put me back under and repeat the process. Hope everything turns out well for you.

Dear nic42......wishing you the best birthday ever, even if there’s 30 mins of it left! And DancyGeorgia....I do hope all turns out well. Very worrying time but so glad you have good friends around you, both physically and here in the ether! @qu3...great news of your brother - and it’s nice to have you around a bit more now your work has eased a little. And thank you to all who have shared today. From cancer recoveries, to Broadband speeds, to seeing loved ones after lockdown - (and Adam’s hair) - all life is here! My positive news is that my much loved godfather was released from a second long term in hospital on Saturday. He and my godmother caught the Virus very early on, before lockdown in the U.K. They were both in hospital, mostly on ventilators, for nine days. My godmother died on the day my godfather was allowed home. After sixty years, they weren’t allowed to say their goodbyes. He became ill again a few weeks ago (lung damage from virus) - but he suddenly turned the corner and tonight, aged 96, he is safely home with his family - as alert as ever, sipping his whiskey and enthusiastically talking politics again...🥃 A little flash of light in these often dark times.
