As usual the mix is bad, can't hear anyone. On the plus side, the two guys that have mentioned Adam are the standouts.

well i'll give them credit for putting some energy into it (as adam would say) a bunch of them are really good performers. natural on stage. the only ones who stand out as extraordinary talents to me are jacob and scotty. it will be interesting to see if the voters get turned off by jacob's OTT performance style. casey and paul are interesting and very musical. they both stand out. james made a good choice with his song. it was different from everyone else and his voice suits metal. his image/persona isn't metal though. he's not badass. so it doesn't really work for me. i think stefano "this one's for the ladies" might be a spoiler by filling the cute guy role. he got a lot of screams tonight! his voice was rough though! brett "red hair" will be a judges choice if he doesn't get the fan vote. i'll say this year's guys are WAY more interesting than anyone on last season. we'll see how the girls do tomorrow but none of them have really stood out to me so far.

Don't know if this has anything to do with Lyndsey's review, I don't really understand the tweet.
lyndseyparker Lyndsey Parker RT @15darren: @lyndseyparker ya decided to like Adam Lambert who screams his way to gayness. I used to like u as a reporter (<--um, BLOCKED) 5 minutes ago

If there won't be any "themes" this year, how will the songs be determined each week? Don't get it, except that AI wants to allow the contestants to remain in their comfort zone. Didn't like the song choices, especially given the option of singing anything they wanted. Scotty picked the best one. Not a huge country fan, but love that kid's voice.

I caved and watched last night - most of it. Missed a couple of performances. Two general opinions: 1.- Much better performers than S9. Lee DeWyze wouldn't be in the top 12 guys this year. 2.- Having said that - there were still some weak performances and the judges (except for Randy) were far too complimentary. They're encouraging rather than critiquing. This is where I miss Simon. My favs - the last two. Jacob is incredible and I LIKED his facial expressions. Adam would never have to tell him that "there's nothing going on from the neck up". lol Problem is that he is wrong for radio & that's what Idol wants - a Pop star. And he will never, ever win. His song choice was a safe one though. Perfect for his style. Back on S4 Anwar Robinson did an beautiful job with that song. Caseyhas great stage presence & I like his style. Again, probably not suited for radio. I liked James more than I thought I would. He's is NO ADAM LAMBERT. Doesn't have the versatility (from what I've seen so far), the charisma, the personality or even the voice. But he does good metal. But yet again - there isn't much market for that on radio these days. Scotty - I do NOT like country, but this guy was born to sing country as one of the judges (Randy?) said. Great bass voice & good stage presence - just not my thing. Paul - Not a favorite but I'm putting him here because he seems to be a front runner. I do not get this guy. He does absolutely nothing for me. Sure he has a unique voice. Just not in a good way. Don't even care for his "persona". Will I keep watching? Probably from time to time. But not religiously. Here's a good review of the performances: www.thepostgameshow.com/?p=1329

Well I am in this year on watching Idol. Unfortunately, it is usually on accross from NCIS, my very fave show, so I am DVRing it to watch later. Also, hubby not into it. I have been an on/off watcher of Idol, I watched the first 2 seasons, then forgot about it till Adam came on the scene. For some reason, I happened to tune in to catch Adam sing ROF, and my only comment was, wow, this is a different kind of performance than what is usually seen on Idol. I didn't catch Adam fever till later in the season, but by the finale, I was totally hooked.
The contestants this year IMO are way better than last year, and I was surprised that some of them FAILED on the show last night, Robbie in particular. I don't know why everyone is flailing on Brett and Paul, Brett is particularly unimpressive IMO. Paul is quirky, and had a better showing in previous shows. I love Scotty and Jacob, and am kind of rooting for James. Casey to me is OK, don't see why everyone thinks his performance was so great, but all the reviewers are counting him. Too bad for Jordan, I think he has talent, but major fail on song choice.
By the way, I have NEVER voted for any Idol contestant, I think I tried once and got a busy signal. I am not invested in the voting, but find the show fun to watch.

I've being watching this season. It's been entertaining. I plan to be at this site tonight to watch the girls. I like to watch the show and have the rolling commentary from the group. I tried doing that at MJS, but her site has been having server issues and it completely fried my Internet Explorer last night. I spent most of the show fixing my computers.
My thoughts on who will make the cut based on last nights performances
1. Scotty McCreery 2. Jacob Lusk 3. James Durbin
After these three, IMO it becomes a toss up but here goes
4. Casey 5. Paul
Jovany didn't bring anything extra to his song choice, but I liked his voice. Brett's song choice was ill-advised, but I like watching the quirky kid. His only hope may be a judges choice.
Bring on the ladies.

I gotta say that I rlly loved Casey, James was surprisingly not terrible even tho I want him to be for my own TV viewing enjoyment, and if Jacob makes top 12 I may quit watching because HE DRIVES ME NUTS. The tone of his voice literally makes me cringe just like raw tomatoes trigger my gag reflex--it's like there is nothing I can do about it. I can't take a Ruben Studdard Part 2: Electric Take It To Church-aloo every week. =/

I didn't watch last year because it was boring. I don't think that will be the case this year and I'm kind of enjoying not giving a sh*t who goes through and who doesn't. In that way Adam broke Idol for me, I just don't care and I'm not invested. What is interesting is that the guys who are good aren't relevant. Maybe that's the way the Powers that Be want it because they want a girl to win this year. It will be fun this year hanging in here because I don't think any of us are particularly invested.

Haa I am not invested but I gotta recap this shite for my site and oh man....at least Lusk will give me good recap fodder. LOL. But yeah he will def make it in thur one way or another, as will Schmadam Schmambert. Actually I think the boys that will go thru Casey James Scotty Paul or Tim a toss up--whoever the little ones found "cuter" lol Jacob I think Clint could be a wild card, ugh, and def Brett would be a wild card.

HaHaHa!! Not an Idolholic huh? I voted for FOUR HOURS for Adam and got about 1000 busy signals.
Sorry, I can't take anyone seriously who doesn't love raw tomatoes. ??? I DO like Casey though!
And Jacob sounds nothing like Ruben Studdard.
That is so TRUE tinafea! Interesting.........

I believe they want a girl to win this year. So far, the guys are def better than last season, though. Didn't watch at all last year, won't vote, but may tune in for results nights, then follow finals. Have a few favs, but think it is betterer that I am not angsting over who wins!
