After GNT Europe and a few "minor' problems like snow storms, etc, someone came up with the idea that next tour we should charter a bus and go to a few (insert whatever number you like) of the concerts, you know, like Belfast, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Paris, etc, etc. I can't remember who suggested it and I'm assuming it was tongue in cheek, but sounds like a plan to me!!!! It sounds like a plan to me too!!!! :Clap: :Clap: :Clap: I've certainly grown up since then, so I always think I'm over all of that. But then I listen to people like Adam talking to people like Whitney and a part of my soul I didn't know was still hurting suddenly heals, and I feel more whole. It makes me choke up, it brings tears to my eyes. A very rare and special gift indeed. Makes me choke up and I was pretty well accepted as a kid. You don't need to have been bullied to be able to empathize with this.  As far as I know, Adam wasn't bullied either, was he? He's said he was friends with the popular girls and everything. And yet, look at him. What he said to that girl was perfect. |

Adam experiences and sees more of that now than he used to, based on what he says or also based on what we can see in comments of youtubes, etc.
But Adam probably always faced discrimination and it has meant that he could not get the career that he deserved based on his talent until he seriously started fighting for it and until he started using the public element (American Idol) to turn things his way. And he had to take the leap of faith and dare to do this, when all his life he had learned by experience that he was divisive as a person. People loved him or hated him, nothing in the middle. It was like that on idol too, but those that loved him carried him to second place and that is all it took to make the music industry wake up. But before that, Adam had faced plenty of job discrimination.
And obviously, the widely discussed radio situation today could be noted in this context too, even though I do agree that having the right music is also part of that puzzle, its not solely a discrimination thing, as the present inclusion of Adam on KIIS-FM, where he was largely ignored previously, clearly demonstrates.
But I think it is certainly true that it is much harder for him than for others. He knows discrimination first hand and now that he is famous, he gets his share of bullying too. He definitely knows what he is talking about.

Dave Grohl says Foo Fighters are taking a break, doesn't know when band might play together again: apne.ws/QLfXXz -DSI saw that too...My sister saw their final show, said they rocked hard and announced it there. The good thing about that for me personally is that with Roger Taylor's solo album coming out early 2013, we might finally get that oft threatened mini Taylor and Taylor tour (Roger and Taylor Hawkins from the Foos). :D I also came on to say I just saw the morning hosts of our local pop radio earlier (Fly 92 in Albany) and plugged Trespassing for you guys and Adam. They said they heard good things about it and to cross my fingers. I've now crossed them for y'all |

See, we have to quit being just TALKERS and do something with our ideas. And I still haven't forgotten about the Europian Glam Bus for next tour. What's that??!! I haven't either!! Another option....when Adam announces his Trespassing tour for NA, we can have 'regional' bus runs....West coast...say Vancouver to LA....or whatever works with the schedule he sets up!! Think how much fun that would be!! We could follow behind his bus and wave to him...remember his BR is in the back!! hahahaha NOW THAT IS CRAY FOR YOU!! |
