But unfortunately a lot of the middle and high school bullies grow up and continue to be bullies. Many adults still have to contend with them. It is just handled differently. And some of them do change. I met someone last year who once told me: "I was a bully when I was in high school. Now, I'm ashamed of myself. I regret it so much it hurts. I'm very, very sorry about what I did."

What does "home coming queen" mean? I remember it also form the song of The Monkees? It is a festival that occurs in High school mainly to celebrate school spirit and football. The team has been on the road and they are coming back home to play a big rivalry gme. That is called homecoming. Often for the week prior, the school has a spirit week, where different activities are done daily, culminating in a friday pep rally, the football game in the evening, and usually saturday is a big dance. Usually kids dress to the nines. They usually vote for a homecoming king and queen that get their crown that evening at the dance. It happened this past weekend. My son went to his dance dressed to the nines. He is a freshman in High school It also happens at colleges and universities where football is big. Actually it is called Homecoming because Alumni are coming back. It is also a "happening" in colleges. In HS it is often accompanied by a semi formal dance. In both college and High School it happens in the Fall and centers around a football game. There are students voted on and crowned as King, Queen and Court

OT: All this talk about the cultural meaning of Homecoming in America reminded me of this hilarious song from the 80's, "Homecoming Queen's Got a Gun." Of course, this was before this crazy comedy idea because a gruesome reality with school shootings. But, if you don't mind watching something that would now-a-days be considered politically incorrect and insensitive, here's the video. A wonderful send up of high school culture.

I had the strangest experience with them. The first time I've done it, that first radio station form wouldn't get accepted until I typed everything, absolutely everything. I tried to lie about my country, zip code, age, but, as if I were in twilight zone, until I gave truthful data, they wouldn't accept my request. And now, each time I fill in mediabase forms, for different stations at that, my info pops out by itself. Like all stations remembered my data. And it is always accepted. It's as if all radio stations have some mutual mediabase motherboard. Idk. I always think that it's the site and then I remember that I'm using Google Chrome and it autofills any form for me. I use my first name, always put in my zip and city and usually a note like, hot today or that was some storm yesterday or I heard it driving back from such and such town. Today I signed up at their viewer feedback poll. Listen to 27 excerpts and rate the ones I had heard. I need to sign up for the VIP club too and get my texting fingers working. I'm reminding people to not forget Facebook. We don't talk about it much here but its a big deal because you are supposed to be logged in with a real name so it's worth more to the station.

I can't agree with you about this. Bulllying when you are an adult is the same problem as it is when you are a child. If you are not strong enough you will be destroyed. I've seen this kind of thing when I was working as a volunteer. In one case woman was hounded by her co-workers - it ends for her with nervous breakdown and suicidal attempt. There are situations and situations, of course. I've faced bullies as an adult, and my feelings, reactions and thoughts have been completely different from those I had when I was bullied in high school. It can be very damaging too (in a situation like the one you described, for example), but I really think, having faced both situations, that it's not the same. I can be wrong, of course. This is just my opinion based on what I know from personal experience and the experiences of those I know.
