I have to watch each episode at least twice to catch all the lines, meanings etc. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this season the whole first book? Can you imagine someone trying to this in a movie? 90 mins or so would not even cover the first few chapters!

And DG has said that there is no way that a movie could do justice to the books. This is the ideal vehicle IMO.

tvline.com/2015/04/08/greys-anatomy-finale-season-11-spoilers-death/Question: Longtime reader and fan, first-time question-asker! I’m wondering what kind of Outlander surprises might be in store in the second half of the season for those of us die-hard book fans? Any crazy changes/additions we should prepare for? —Tracy Ausiello: Creator/executive producer Ronald D. Moore recently told TVLine about a slight discrepancy taking place at the very end of the season. To keep it spoiler-free for those who haven’t read the Diana Gabaldon novel: There’s that thing that happens at a place that rhymes with “Schmentworth,” and then “instead of going to France and playing all the abbey scenes there, I chose to keep the abbey in Scotland so there is still a danger to them and a need to escape.” But, he reassures fans of the books, “the abbey scenes are still there.”

the wolf scene is part of Claire's rescuing of Jamie from Wentworth Prison so it would be in this bunch of shows if Ron includes it. Why do you say it will be 2017? I understood it would be 2016 and my guess is January of 2016. I say this because Starz debuted the second season of Black Sails then. I think they are trying to keep all their original series from broadcasting at the same time. Producers and writers are back in Scotland now. I think they will begin filming now that the second half of the season and all the media hoopla for that has happened. If you don't have the audiobooks for Outlander, GET THEM. They are fabulous. I've read the books probably a dozen times since I heard of them here on Atop :D ETA this season covers Outlander. Season 2 will be the next book, Dragonfly In Amber one of the news articles I read actually said 2018, but Diana said it was wrong. I hope season 2 will be next year. I am sure it will be renewed, it is so fabulous! My understanding is that this season will cover all of book 1. You can kind of tell what will be covered by the trailer they showed at the end of last week's episode. Wonder where they came up with the duel and where that is? Looks like a large estate in France, but, know it is not France. I have discovered Diana Galbadon's web site and blog, fabulous! She really responds to the readers, and great info there about why and what was used in the series vs the book. on the audio, does is come on CD? I don't do enough traveling to need an audio of the book, but if I did, I would be hard pressed to pick just one. Has anyone read the Outlandish Companion? Recommendations please. Tomorrow night!!!! Is it here yet?

I ordered the Outlandish Companion but won't be able to look at it until I get home. I plan to order the new one for the other books in the Fall when it's released. I listen to the books on my kindle where I can go back and forth between actually reading it and listening. I also have them in my iTunes. I've taken up knitting so I listen while I am doing that Starz won't wait till 2017 to release the next Season, the show would lose all it's momentum. There is no way it will be a year and a half from now.

I haven't seen it yet but I want it because it's like an Outlander Encyclopedia :D I ordered it from the Poisoned Pen so I could have it signed by DG.

I just watched Ep 10 on demand, I really enjoyed Ron's "changes". I think they worked very well. I won't go into specifics since the episode hasn't aired on tv yet.

since this is my least fav part of the book, I did like what they did with it. Never understood why Claire seemed to be so complacent about Gillie killing her husband. Reasoned it out that there was not a way in that time to prove the murder but still she knew and still responded when she received the note. Being away from the protection of the castle she knew that she would be in danger.
