Adam Lambert – Born to be Wild – The recorded version of the song doesn’t highlight Adam’s vocals and without the live performance, the song seems sterile. Rickey Minor and the band aren’t really up to handling techno pop credibly. Still love Adam, but not loving this. – iTunes
"A concert is not a live rendition of our album. It's a theatrical event." -- Freddie Mercury
Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel are the mucho talented producers behind the Upright Cabaret, the review and concert show that features Broadway and TV stars, plus up and coming local talent all on one stage.
Adam Lambert began performing there in late 2006, quickly becoming one of Upright Cabaret’s all-star performers. In fact, if you stop by Mark’s Restaurant, UC’s home in West Hollywood, you’ll see Adam’s 3 x 5 picture adorning the wall.

The concert will feature artists and musicians who have shared the stage with Adam at Upright Cabaret, Wicked and the Zodiac Show. They’ll be singing the songs that Adam performed on American Idol, plus his signature songs from the Upright stage.

Adam Lambert – “If I Can’t Have You” by Yvonne Elliman – He says he’s doing something he can connect to emotionally. The front half of the song is very tender–beautiful falsetto. The chorus is totally rearranged and he loses me a little when he hits the glory note and it ends abruptly. Not my favorite by Adam–not as memorable as “Tracks of My Tears” or “Mad World” but still pretty wonderful. Randy says, “You are ready right now dude…he’s is a hot one tonight.” Kara says, “Adam,, you’re brilliant…most memorable performance…the emotion…the way you connected..it’s inspiring.” Paula is about to dissolve into a puddle. She says, “You chose to pick a disco song and not make it cliche…I feel your vulnerablity….you will be in the finals.” Simon says, “You did something we weren’t expecting, it was original, you’re going to remember it…your vocals were immaculate.” Adam says Michael Orland helped him with the arrangement. 1-866-436-5705

Adam Lambert – I Can’t Have You by Yvonne Elliman – I love the way he changed up the verse of this song. So beautiful. Similar to Cook’s “Always Be My Baby”, the torched-up version of the song highlights the poignancy of the lyrics. I’ve heard this song so many times, but it never made me want to cry until now. I bitched about the arrangement of the live version, but those problems are resolved here. iTunes
Adam Lambert – Feeling Good – This is the muse version…it wasn’t mentioned. Hope that doesn’t cause Adam problems… If I’m being perfectly honest, I am not loving this. The arrangement doesn’t feel right, and he holds on to the glory note a tad too long. Showboating, it was, and Adam is a good singer. He doesn’t need to go there. There’s no doubt Adam can sing his ass off, but I think he’s had better performances. Randy says, “It was a little theatrical and drama filled…but you are in the zone..another great performance.” Kara says, “You are shocking and OTT in a good way…craziness!” “You make me feel better than good…watching you is like watching the Olympics and you are Michael Phelps.” Simon says, “Winning is important, I feel that you want to win…best entrance of the night.” Simon says that only 3 contestants tonight really want to win. 1-866-436-5705 1-866-436-5710
