I just found a nice excuse to go back to page1 and scroll past all the delicious pics... celebmix.com/celebmix-awards-2015-album-of-the-yearAdam caught up(!!) and now is barely holding on to the #1 spot. I think the album category is an important one, so let's not forget to vote and may be tweet the link in order to keep him there!!! (Chasing "The Original High"...) Am I the only one that this link is not working for? I checked and it's the same on Page One, but when I click on either one, it shows the percentages of each person and there's no option to vote. From my experience, it shows the percentages and won't let you vote if you are trying to cast another vote in less than 24 hours. It's once per day in each category. I wasn't able to vote earlier either as I did it late last night. I still tweeted the link though. #Glambert lol

To me TISI is absolutely about the relationship and breakup with RCA. They asked for authenticity in his music, he created his 'baby' Trespassing and they rejected it as too real and the proceeded to destroy it with the addition of NCYE and BTIKM. Any other explainations he adds are to make it appeal to the masses and maybe to divert a bit from the real source. I think the Trespassing era was much, much harder on him than anyone realized at the time and we are slowly getting glimpses of that. I appreciate this view but can you refresh my memory of when RCA asked for authenticity? Of course so much of the change at RCA seemed to be also because of RCA leadership changes. I took it to mean ( and she does start her post off "To me") that was her take on the lyrics....."You say you want the truth, but you can't take it....So I give you lies". Not that we actually know what they asked for. ETA: and to add to this.... there was the whole delay after delay concerning both album and singles release dates. I don't believe that had anything to do with leadership changes. IMO that was all time spent searching for and recording safe songs BTIKM and NCOE because the PTB at RCA were too afraid to release the single standouts on the album...... Cuckoo, Shady, Trespassing, Naked Love etc.... "You wanna hear my voice, my mind, my demons But not too much Or you'll give up" "I tell you something It's a double-edged sword you're giving And I can't see the truth in living When we hide behind a wall of fear"

Even held up the album release so the could put Never Close Our Eyes on it. our

To me it is inferrred, the label gave the go ahead for the project, provided a recording advance to fund the work, allowed him to executive produce the album, he had creative control, to me that says they wanted his vision for the album. Or at least thought they did. Contrast that to the request for an 80s cover album, no authenticity allowed or requested there. NCYE. Should oof ccourse be NCOE. Sheeze :-/

So, my pertinent on topic question for the board:Any ideas about which of Adam's songs would be best translated to a vintage or entirely different style, using a Postmodern vocalist? I'm thinking For Your Entertainment, Evil in the Night, Fever and maybe Outlaws of Love. Oh, thank you for the postmodern jukebox! Didn't know it, and that is a great way of rethinking those songs. It is very well done too! I would love to see Ghost Town reworked, Broken Open, BTIKM, Runnin' or Trespassing. Talking about songs being reworked: I love this one (bonus: these guys are 2/5 of Pentatonix, which whom Adam is going to share a stage soon, more bonus: another little piece of Anaconda, oh and Mitch is wearing a familiar butterfly shirt) Nic42, I love Superfruit/Scomiche! I'm so bummed PTX's show with Adam is not on the East coast. :-(
