I would say the same one that made Uptown Funk such a colossal hit. Oh my god, I was about to start writing my response like *rolls up sleeves* "Guuuurl Q3, let me tell you why..." and then I scroll down & Linda already got it under control. You're speakin' my mind tonight. lol ditto!M LOVE ME SOME SHADY,

I am just curious -- what circa 2013 radio format do the "Shady-should-have-been-a-radio-single" think "Shady" actually belonged on? I would file that one with "Sleepwalker" -- fan fav that was not suitable for radio. Singles are a matter of timing. Trespassing had very radio-friendly tracks -- none released as singles -- for example: "Cuckoo" and "Naked Love." Biggest missed opportunity from Trespassing -- IMHO -- was "Runnin'." Look at the iTunes history and streaming data -- continues to be popular even now. And it was a bonus track!! I would say the same one that made Uptown Funk such a colossal hit. But Uptown Funk is 2015. And the Robin Thicke thing hit in 2014? Or late 2013? Shady was at least a year ahead of its time. Unfortunately.

Shady was about 6 months to a year too early! Adam is so innovative, he was too early! LOL! He had Pharrell & Nile on his album before their big comebacks. No song I play on that album gets non stans heads bobbing more than Shady. I just checked the iTunes bars for Trespassing album & Shady has enough bars, IMO, to have been a single. IMO, radio can make almost any good song a hit. They just have to play it enough! I think Top 40 radio was waiting for something "new" from Adam. And RCA gave them BTIKM! ETA: Csquared! "Jinx!"

Unfortunately. But someone has to start the trend. And Shady was more than a strong enough song to do that. Shady didn't need to wait for someone to go first or 'give it permission', so to speak. It happens all the time on pop radio. One song comes out & it doesn't sound like any other & that song becomes the new 'thing'. #TeamShadyForever
