That is quite the ring Adam is sporting!  That whole look...shirt, jacket, hat....guys got style ....even if he wears a "toboggan" on his head the next day! (Never in a zillion years would I have thought of anything other than a candy cane shaped snow sled  ....until this conversation on the thread!) Adam certainly makes every effort to maintain his friendships from past relationships, work, and play. Relaxing and just kicking back in safe environments ...must feel "nice". |

It’s going to be surprising and different too! The American Idol star has been pretty busy being the frontman for Queen and traveling the world with the British legends. On top of that he was also working as a judge on X Factor Australia. It’s all been a bit hectic! After a year that contained an appearance in the Rocky Horror Picture Show Live, Adam is ready to return tomaking some music. Adam explained that he has been working on his next album. He has started the writing and producing but isn’t ready to give too many details just yet. “When I was here (London) that week, I was working on stuff with a couple of amazing writers and producers. I got some stuff in the can. When I go home to LA, probably at the start of next month, I’ll start more. I’d like to get some music out soon. I definitely have some ideas. There will be some surprises and some freshness to bring,” he said. Adam did amazing when he performed on last week’s X Factor final. He duetted with the amazing Saara Aalto and has revealed since that he’d consider performing a duet with the brunette beauty |

Yes! What? In Mississippi a toboggan is a hat. Sleds? We don't have much snow and I have never seen a sled even in North Mississippi. But it is also used in Kentucky and Tennessee where they also have sleds. toboggan (n.) Look up toboggan at Dictionary.com "long, flat-bottomed sled," 1829, from Canadian French tabagane, from an Algonquian language, such as Maleseet /thapaken/. The verb is recorded from 1846. As American English colloquial for a type of long woolen cap, it is recorded from 1929 (earlier toboggan cap, 1928), presumably because one wore such a cap while tobogganing. link: www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=tobogganThis is a tobaggan:  ETA: A toboggan is a simple sled but not all sleds are toboggans. On a related note, Santa does not arrive on a sleigh with 8 reindeer in parts of Mississippi, Louisiania and Arkansas either. Papa Noel arrives on a pirogue pulled by alligators. A pirogue (or piragua or piraga) can be one of several kinds of small boats. One kind is associated particularly with the Cajuns of the Louisiana marsh. The early Cajun pirogues were cypress dugouts but today they are usually flat-bottomed boats. I guess that is our toboggan.  I grew up in Louisiana and lived the last 30 years in Tennessee and I've never hear knit hats called "toboggans"! |

I think radio are willing to play him. It's not Radio necessarily . Most of the time the amount of money and payola a label put into an artists single. In terms of promo impacts too. US Pop radio like I mentioned played the hell out of GT. Partly due to Wbr pushing it. It became a US Pop hit. Maybe not reflected in charting on big charts like BB Hot 100. But definitely reflected its success in streaming. I just don't agree with this notion Radio don't play Adam. They do. Or are at least willing. A lot of the big hits in pop are not mostly from Under 25s. A lot of over 30s. Which tells me it's all about the music. Radio does target Younger demo. In terms of advertising. But I did read mostly over 25s Liston to radio. Radio stations monitor ITunes, Spotify, YouTube. Songs that go viral make it onto popular Spotify playlists too helps too. Adam can get a big hit. It's going to take the right song though. With a lot of luck, and timing. Heck maybe a collaboration we'll do the trick. |
