Keep in mind that when we are talking about his popularity and "more viewers" "ratings" etc., him being on the Grammys telecast & advertised as one of the main acts did NOT help their ratings at all!  |

Unfortunately, it seems that perception is more important than reality by today's standards.
Keeping my fingers crossed that Adam has this role.

As far as I saw this was only speculation from some news site. And yes he is hot at the moment as he had the biggest hit last year. But seeing as they casted mostly good singers so far that speculation might be based on very thin ice. I really hope they announce Judas soon though. Just to get rid of all that speculation. No idea when though. Tonight is the Super Bowl and next week the Olympics will occupy most of the news. I am literally shocked that that song was the biggest hit of any year. I don't hear anything special. It is just because it's Spanish? There are songs that I think of as gestalt or more than the sum of their parts. This is one. Often, as is the case with Uptown Funk (2.9 billion views) and even Gangham Style (3.0 billion views), it is the rhythm and video that unite the melody and lyric making it accessible and just plain feel good. You want to move, dance, play, and have fun. I highlighted rhythm because I think there is something atavistic about these songs as they sync to a natural internal pulse of the body that transcends language and lyrics. As for Despacito (4.7 BILLION views in the original Spanish version), Justin Beiber did not make this song big, it was already huge in enough of the world and he hopped on with a remix (607 million views) that took it higher in English language countries. And just to put in my plaintive cry for what could perhaps have been, I have always thought Shady had this gestalt, especially if it had a kick-ass video. |

 I wonder if Adam will be watching the game this year. We know how much he loves football. Forgive me -- but I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. Most of my family is still there. So well...  AND PHILADELPHIA HAS GONE PAST BAT SHIT CRAZY. RATHER LIVELY HERE TO SAY THE LEAST. |
