csharpminor: LOLOLOL ;D ;D ;D Seoulmate: And also from yesterday's thread, crispy said: My favorite lyric of all the songs so far is from Kickin In: " The sweetest seeds make the best trees!" Love that one! That line really stood out for me, too, but I was wondering what it meant in the context of the verse: She wants to be up there in the air where the clouds live the sweetest seeds make the best trees 30,000 feet she can smile and now... Sigh. I'm totally sleep deprived and have to go to bed, and I don't want to trudge off to Urban Dictionary. LOL I saw it as another reference to "that optimistic vine" - another beanstalk, perhaps? Yeah, me too, and--maybe this was already dissected in detail, i missed the trespassing lyrics day, in which case, sorry, , carry on--both, to me, seem like classic "magic plants" references. I think jack's beanstalk is a widely acknowledged marijuana metaphor, and the tree is doing the same thing. Never know how high a fistful of magic beans or seeds might take you, lol! ;D ETA: on re-listening, not sure these are the lyrics after all. scenes/dreams? seeds/treats? no idea, haha. Bringing this over from the last thread... mika posted: Mika: Totally agree with the brilliance of this idea, and I basically never say this because I generally feel the fewer details Adam knows of our "skeeriness" the better, but I wish someone could show this to Adam. I really feel he would dig it. Videos can do very interesting things with the concept of TIME, because of the ways in which we can speed up and slow down film. Lots to play with here. Just one example, which could maybe be paired with Mika's idea in some way but would probably just unnecessarily muddy a beautifully simple concept, so just take it as an example: The band OK GO--they of the brilliant videos--did a video which they shot in a park over the course of a whole day and night, mouthing the words veeeeerrrrrrrrrrryyyyyy slooooowwwwwwwwlllllyyy, so that when the film was sped up to fit into the 4 or so minutes you have for a music video, they more or less matched the track (Adam talked about learning how to do this in a less extreme way when filming the Ford commercial vids on AI). Anyway, the effect is interesting--for some reason, Mika's idea of an endless night made me think of it--like you could track an ACTUAL NIGHT all around the world, and then speed it up, so that the video conveys both the feeling of the timelessness in the song and of the feeling of fleeting pleasures...Does any of that makes sense? Here's the OK GO vid for those interested:

I'm happy the preorders for Trespassing are doing well on itunes but does anyone know why you can't listen to the snippets on the deluxe album? I think casual fans may see the postage stamp icon on iTunes front page, click on it but then only get to listen to NCOE. Now, that may be great IF they love it but I want everyone to hear the other songs too!

OT but not: There was an interesting article in the Sunday Times (of London) about the "Symphony of Rock" being put together for the closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games. The idea is to chronicle the history of British popular music. Apparently the lineup is still up in the air -- quite literally. The article quotes The Who's longtime manager Bill Curbishley who said he got an inquiry if Keith Moon would be available to play at the Olympics. Moon died in 1978. The manager is quoted as saying: "I emailed back saying Keith now resides in Golders Green crematorium, having lived up to the Who's anthemic line I hope I die before I get old. If they have a round table, some glasses and candles, we might contact him." In other Olympic related news, the Times reported that the Sex Pistols have turned down the organizers. No word on whether they specifically asked for Sid Vicious. At least Queen has made a step in the right direction unless the organizers are just "dead set" on having Freddie. www.metro.co.uk/olympics/895700-london-2012-organisers-wanted-dead-star-keith-moon-to-perform-at-games

Those of you using IE might want to seriously consider using another browser if possible. IE is the most vulnerable browser out there. Also virus protection is extremely important for web surfing. Yep, MJ's. I've got Avast for viruses which has done a great job (at least so far), plus a malware blocker and a malware remover. Hoping no real damage was done; I'm not seeing anything turn up in the scan so far and I'm not seeing anything foreign running a process. I have chrome installed...anyone have any opinions on that? Sorry, now back to Adam... I love Chrome. I had Avast and got a virus which killed my computer! My friend who is in the business (and does IT work for the government) recommended PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus.

I replaced it with a Mac mini, which was less expensive than other Macs but does everything I need. I'm also a lot more cautious about the sites I visit. One of the reasons I joined Atop is because people bring the news here. I don't surf the web anymore for Adam news or visit celebrity gossip sites. The Mac has only gotten one malware attack so far in about a year and I was able to get it off. That was through an e-mail, not web surfing.

*Slowly recovering from listening the snippits thinking that a break might help*
I am listening to YleX Finland waiting for NCOE to be played one of these days in this evening programme that presents new music. They have a guessing game for listeners, they play some sentences spoken between songs on a gig and ask who is speaking. In the audio clip today there was a male voice asking if there were any metrosexuals in the audience who would be comfortable enough with themselves and their sexuality to raise their hands, and would they like to hear a love song. The first caller guessed Adam Lambert - but alas, it was not him. The second caller got it right, it was Justin Hawkins. (The caller won some promo bag.)
*Still trying to cope with the new Adam music coherently - better listen some more...*

I'm biased since I've only owned Macs, but I think they are well worth the money. I've never had any problems with viruses or data corruption and I've been using them for years.
