Adam Lambert Unleashes Cowbell on Donna Summer Tributepopdust.com/2012/06/25/adam-lambert-donna-summer-hot-stuff-cover/“I love Donna Summer so much!” Adam Lambert declared at his gig last night at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. “Do you love Donna Summer?” The question was probably a rhetorical one, as Lambert likely would have launched into his cover of Summer’s disco classic “Hot Stuff,” in belated tribute to the legendary late tribute. It’s a fine cover—and holy hell, we haven’t heard that much cowbell in one jam since the days of “House of Jealous Lovers”—and Lambert does a good job of tying Summer back to modern day (and his own music) by medley-ing the song with his own “Cuckoo.” Speaking of Lambert covers of disco standards, you guys remember his cover of Yvonne Elliman’s ‘If I Can’t Have You” from his American Idol days? How badass was that? Vids: Hot Stuff + If I Can't Have You (Idol performance)

At this point, should requests to Z100 still be local? Can I text from the Chicago area (I never ever do the requesting thing for stations I don't listen to, but maybe now is the time to go ahead and do it anyway? What can it hurt?) Regarding the media base forms---a DJ friend told me they are a red flag that it's a fanbase voting and not a casual listener; he said that most listeners don't know what they are (actually, he said most station staff don't even know what they are) and that they wouldn't take the time to fill them out if they did. Anyway, keep filling them out if you want (this was info from one DJ) but text and tweet seem to be the best options. Also calls when the station is requesting them. Eta---I tend to agree with Q3, "not enough requests" is the #1 excuse stations will use when not playing a song. I try to use every venue available, including texting from my kid's phones - as they are now at home for the summer. Thinking of getting them to tweet from their accounts - although this might be harder-"public" to their friends ... Streaming on Spotify as well - just for the sake of BB numbers...

Anyone notice anything different in his Sf performance after all of the sessions with Queen? Lots of missed lyrics with his own songs?

That z100 is saying that no one is requesting NCOE befuddles me. I looked on the mediabase form and need to ask, "Who is requesting Ellie Goulding's "Lights"? I guess everyone who knows that Adam has a new album out and is a fan has purchased the album. We don't have to hear it on the radio because we have multiple copies that we play in the care, at home, etc. So, for us, we don't need to hear it on the radio. What keeps me going on the radio requests is for radio to play it so Adam can gain new fans. I do my mediabase forms and now I've started texting. There's a few polls and countdowns that I participate in but not to an obsessive degree -- depends if I'm watching TV or stuck on the phone So, as boring as it is, let's all make at least one radio request today and continue our campaign to get Adam played! I recommend not overreacting to this comment from one person at Z100. NCOE is not on their playlist -- and they will not play it unless it is added. It is the easiest thing to say to a fan when they request a song that is not on the playlist. Requests are MORE IMPORTANT to stations that have NCOE on their playlist. WHATEVER ELSE YOU DO request from Q102 today. I'm gonna disagree here and say, we need to request from Z100 and any other station that may be our local station, playlist or not. The stations that are already playing it are not the problem. This song needs adds and it needs them now. Before following Adam, I didn't have a clue what a playlist was or what an add was. If I heard a song I liked on one station, but maybe my favorite station wasn't playing it, I REQUESTED IT!! I say FUCK playlists and FUCK adds. Request away because right now, there is absolutely nothing to lose. They're not playing it anyway, so what the hell!!!!!!!!! ^^^ All my opinion ^^^^^ Of course! ;D

Anyone notice anything different in his Sf performance after all of the sessions with Queen? Lots of missed lyrics with his own songs? Missed lyrics for sure :D Also, it seems to me that his voice is somehow better (higher? clearer?), ever since the Graham Norton performance where he killed NCOE, and in SF as well, it feels like he's really perfecting it. Spreading his wings/stretching boundaries for the effort that is six gigs with Queen ? Ah. Maybe I'm just hallucinating.

The vocals at the end compared to the beginning were even more amazing than previosuly! Who does that? Most artists lose their voices on long tours. Not Adam! His gets better!!
