Hi Talon, I see from Bri's tweets that he is in NYC conducting auditions for the WWRY USA tour. Are there any other events Brian and /or Roger (is Roger in the US as well?) are attending as far as the Queen fandom knows? I am especially interested in NYC ones (as I could run out and get a glimpse of Brian perhaps )... also, is there any info on the Freddie biopic? Have they started filming?

They might be back in London already! Roger's FB page posted that it was a great NY trip and that the production has a great cast now and stellar band.
Roger was in the US two weeks ago and then came back to London to work on his album and then went back for the casting.
Brian should definitely be back in London at this point anyways as he's playing with Kerry tomorrow night at the Palladium....
As far as the biopic goes, it's still in pre-production. They want to start filming soon. I think they are right now working out all the scheduling at this point.

Brian just tweeted the Freedom Tower picture and it is not from today judging by the weather....It feels good to know he went there, (I visited there for the first time only a week ago....couldn't face the place for so many years...) Ya, I remember Roger being in LA recently....

Yeah that was a nice pic and it is good to see it from Brian's eyes so to speak. I haven't been there in quite a bit - after the event but before all the work.

Was It All Worth It
Written by: Freddie Mercury
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - lead and backing vocals, keyboards, orchestral arrangements Brian May - guitars, backing vocals, keyboards John Deacon - bass guitar Roger Taylor - drums, percussion, backing vocals
- Freddie's doctors had told him he probably wouldn't live past 1989-1990 so there was the belief that this could be the very last album. Thus this song was chosen to close it out. Freddie's positive ode to life and his choices in rock and roll. It was worth it.
- Harkens back to earlier Queen with tempo shifts and some full orchestrations.
QUOTES:
"'Was It All Worth It' , I really like. That's me and Fred, but more him. For that track we did all sit around and try to come up with rhymes and stuff. Roger's very good at that." - Brian May - 1994 Guitarist Magazine
“It’s all emulator and synthesizers. Originally the song didn’t go like that at all, but the band wanted that section added and then moved around two or three times. Because it was virtually a live recording there was no click track, so I had to insert a space on the master, time it, add an equal space on the slave and then add timecode. So some parts of the song go to about ten generations of copying, but because we were working digitially, there’s no loss of quality.” – David Richards
PERSONAL NOTES:
- Hands down one of my favorite Queen tracks. I'm not sure if it's the circumstances but it makes me smile and realize that Freddie ennjoyed his short life and that everything is a worthwhile experience.

Hang On In There
Written by: Freddie Mercury
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - lead and backing vocals, piano, keyboards Brian May - guitars, keyboards (?) John Deacon - bass guitar Roger Taylor - drums
- Originally titled A Fiddly Jam demo. - Appeared as a bonus track on the CD version and also as a B-Side
ALTERNATE RELEASED VERSIONS
SINGLE EDIT NO YT VID - NOT ESSENTIAL - Fades a bit earlier.
A FIDDLY JAM DEMO
- ESSENTIAL - Mostly instrumental with some adlibs but great to see where it came from.
PERSONAL NOTES: - Another song I loved, and I'm not sure why it wasn't on the album proper. It's a great message, and I love the tempo increase towards the frantic ending. Great tune.
Next up? The other Miracle-era song to have been played live...kind of...Chinese Torture

Chinese Torture
Written by: Brian May
Musicians:
Brian May - guitars, keyboards, programming Freddie Mercury - keyboards, programming Roger Taylor - drums
- This had it's roots from 1986 as Brian would occasionally throw a little bit of it in his solo. - It is the only other song from the album to have a live performance (even in part). It was revived by Brian during the QPR tours as he would sporadically include parts of it.
QPR LIVE 2008
PERSONAL NOTES: - Not my fav Brian solo, but effective.

My Life Has Been SavedWritten by: John Deacon Musicians: Freddie Mercury - lead vocals Brian May - guitars, slide guitar (1989 version only) John Deacon - bass guitar Roger Taylor - drums David Richards - keyboard programming - Issued as a B-Side to Scandal- Revisited in 1995 for the Made In Heaven album - Detailed HEREPERSONAL NOTES: - I like this version better than the newer one mainly because there's more Brian on this one. It's not John's best, but it is a nice pop tune. NEXT UP? Roger's Hijack My Heart

Hijack My Heart
Written by: Roger Taylor
Musicians:
Roger Taylor - lead vocals, drums, percussion, keyboards, guitar (?), bass guitar (?) Freddie Mercury - keyboards Brian May - guitars John Deacon - bass guitar (?)
**Note - this is one of those it's hard to tell. As you know by now Roger did a lot of his songs on his own and he was always wanting to play more guitar/bass. **
- The B-Side of The Invisible Man in the UK and Scandal in the US. - Roger sings lead on this one.
UNRELEASED VERSION
DEMO
-ESSENTIAL - A very interesting demo. It has more percussion that unfortunately does drown out the vocals but also has more prominent guitar and an awesome piano outro.
PERSONAL NOTES: - Not going to set the world on fire but it is a fun song that is good to drive along to in the summer. I wish the piano outro had been kept!
Next up? Freddie does some Stealin' with some humorous results!

Stealin'
Written by Freddie Mercury
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - lead and backing vocals, keyboards Brian May - guitars, 12-string guitar John Deacon - bass guitar Roger Taylor - drums, percussion
- Issued as a B-Side to Breakthruin the UK as well as Scandal in the US. - Features lyrics that will share some similarity to The Cross tune In Charge Of My Heart which makes me think that perhaps Roger did have hand in writing as well. - Mostly a jam session type upbeat tune with some Freddie scatting.
UNRELEASED VERSION
DEMO
- ESSENTIAL! - 12 minutes long and just chock full of Freddie overdubbing Freddie overdubbing Freddie - yelling at himself, just very humorous and well worth searching out to listen to.
PERSONAL NOTES: I LOVE the demo. Don't get me wrong, the B-Side version is fun too but that demo is just hilarious. Love it. Next up? A Freddie demo that was partially on the album...A New Life Is Born
