To tie it in...Mika often compared to Freddie in the beginning of his career...obviously namechecked Freddie in his biggest US hit Grace Kelly....
AND one of his most recent hits in the UK is Last Party - a song written from the mindset of Freddie after he found out he has AIDS. GREAT song...

Ummm, I think Nick forgot someone's name?! If this is the Nick who does the tour blogs, then I have absolutely NO doubt that he left Adam off deliberately. He has done things like this since the start and I, and several others here, have noted it and discussed it. He has a real problem with Adam (IMHO) and I am surprised that no one close to Brian and Roger hasn't pointed it out. But he does it negatively, by omission.... The last time he really got up my nose was after the last QAL in Sth America where he went into raptures about a song (Tie your Mother Down, I think) - best he'd ever heard then went on to praise very single person on that stage... And totally ignored Adam - as if they didn't have a singer. I don't get angry about anything these days.... But I am very close to it with this man....and I know he will be excused here again....and I know it's not all about Adam etc etc... but he has a professional role and a responsibility towards QAL as a whole....and Adam doesn't need to be fighting whatever problem it is, from within the fold. And now if this isn't that 'Nick' I'm going to look stupid and start deleting..... Just popping in to say I think you guys are looking a bit too far into it. I've talked to Nick a few time behind the scenes and know for a fact that he totally is supportive of Adam fronting Queen. He's gone on a few times (both in podcast) and behind the scenes about what a nice guy Adam is and everything. Of course his focus in reporting is going to be a bit more slanted towards the Queen side of the Queen + Adam connection for various reasons but it's not anti Adam at all. He's probably like me in that he's not a big fan of much of Adam's own solo work just because it doesn't fit his musical tastes - he's a big hard rock guy - AC/DC is his fav for example. As far as who runs the twitter...I don't think it's always Nick. I'm not certain there. But I think he's one of a few people who would be involved in tweeting so it may not have been him. Celine is actually a HUGE Queen/Freddie fan. She's been performing it for years in different fashions. Not my style at al but certainly I won't hold it against her As regards to streaming - there could be a ton of reasons. Perhaps ticket sales (though I don't think they are doing that poorly outside of Germany for whatever reason....but as someone mentioned it could very well be a exclusivity thing. I know they've been touting Isle of Wight as the ONLY UK performance of the year and perhaps it is something to do with that not wanting a stream from another country. I'm sure it will get recorded and uploaded by someone

I doubt it. Those are the lyrics to the song New Dark Ages which is what was posted. Roger doesn't actually tweet himself - it's his PR team and they often just link videos to older songs. New Dark Ages is a 1991 song by The Cross (although rumored to have been demoed by Queen for the Innuendo album but rejected by John...quite emphatically) - a song about the AIDS crisis. Great song and if you listen carefully to Roger's humming in the beginning, it is close to Days of Our Lives -- BUT long story short I doubt the tweet has anything to do with anything...just part of the song :D Thanks Talon! I knew it was not a Queen song but part of the song New Dark Ages, I was just theorizing that they were going to sing a Roger song with Welcome lyrics, an Adam song with Welcome lyrics, and maybe if there was a Brian song with those lyrics, that too. I was in a hurry so not clear. I didn't actually know about Roger's PR team but the timing was interesting. Off to read the thread and the Boston Globe article. Gotta say, The Rolling Stones "Sympathy for the Devil" kept running through my head regarding the article. Off the top of my head - no Brian lyrics with it though I just woke up That would be a great surprise as they've never done a Roger solo song at a full Queen gig! Two almost a though: Say It's Not True became a solo song later but was a more Queen version first Second - Strange Frontier was performed by B&R at a Spike Edney led Freddie tribute 10 years after Freddie's passing

Time for Talon to come in and join us again!! YES!! LOL! Ha....yeah I'm starting to sneak over now and again :D Adam seemed to have a fun time on tour. Hoping for a few different tracks this time. Given that it's festivals I'm not TOO optimistic on that as it's going to be even MORE geared towards the greatest hits crowd BUT...maybe a different hit or two Glad to see people getting psyched :D

Hmmm, Roger tweets out "Welcome to ..." during rehearsals. I wonder if there is a hint and a theme here for the upcoming concerts? Gotta go to work, but will read the Boston Globe article when I get home. I doubt it. Those are the lyrics to the song New Dark Ages which is what was posted. A few days late...sorry. i heard the call and so I read the rumors re: QAL North America and hit the ground running...unfortunately i've come up with not-so-much.
If you remember earlier when they began announcing dates left and right I said that what I had heard was they were thinking about adding a few NA dates but that they were hammering out all the European dates first, then they would see where they were and consider branching out from there.
I checked with all my sources and they had nothing new to offer me. Which doesn't mean it's *NOT* happening as they haven't changed their stance to say it isn't happening... It is most certainly possible. Given they just announced the Polish date - they could still be finishing up Europe mode and maybe have begun to move on to checking for possible NA fits and thus the rumors starting to come out. The rumors coming are a positive sign...we'll have to wait and see.

Qucikly came back to just say how devastated I am. This is up there with Freddie and eerily similar. Both stopped touring...and both took some time and then worked a lot again towards the very end. I also held Bowie up as a benchmark of what Freddie could have done if he had the extra 25 years....both had amazingly creative 70s periods, cocaine fueled 80s pop moments that were sometimes less than artistic and then right at the end freddie started recapturing his art form (the Innuendo album) and Bowie did as well with Outside, etc. Bowie then went on to do some of his most creative work again...and I thought Freddie really could have recaptured that and given some great treasures. I'm glad Bowie had his time to recapture it as he certainly went out on top. I've been playing Blackstar non stop since Friday.... I saw someone posted Brian's twitter... Here was Roger's comments: David Bowie: The cleverest and most interestingly brilliant man of our time. What a vacuum he leaves, and how he will be missed. Roger From OFFICIAL RMT Day 3 without David..... I've been binging Bowie since he died. Still no sign of stopping. I created a large 4 1/2 hour playlist that I've gone through almost 3 times....and played the last album a few times. This one still hurts. For those interested: 1. Blackstar 2. Under Pressure 3.
