THANK YOU Q!!!! Things have been getting a bit prickly and blood pressure raising. At the moment it seems like Adam himself is bringing most of the prickly and blood pressure inducing comments. I would think if he is that passionate about the cause he would join the protesters and see what's going on first hand instead of relying on edited video on whichever channel is watching and second hand information. Coming from long line of self employed people his comment about, "welll they have insurance" insinuating it's okay to destroy those business, someone else will pay them. He really doesn't get it. It’s pretty clear to me the entire post above consists of nothing but lies and assumptions about Adam manufactured to fit a specific political agenda.

Not political, but I do wonder at the arrogance of people who tell entertainers to stay in their lane. Really? They're here only for OUR entertainment, but are to have no opinions, no private life, no thoughts of their own? That's unbelievably arrogant to think that. Boy George is right. They including Adam are paying their taxes too.

In keeping the discussion just on Adam and his words....he has said he opposes the rioting and looting, etc, but then adds "dont they have insurance" which means IMO that part isn't of much concern to him. Being a small bus owner and the daughter of parents who were small bus owners...insurance doesn't cover everything and in this case many of these inner city businesses are black owned and serve their community and I bet are under insured, etc. Another thing that kinda annoys me is he keeps calling fans and posters ignorant which tends to remind the deplorables of the progressive elite culture. Having said that....I still love him and understand his frustration. I also think he must be frustrated over Covid and how that messed with his promo and concert dates for him and QAL. and almost a year's income. I'm glad he said his rant was therapeutic.

First of all I have been here since the beginning and I am here for the music, not to be lectured about values. Secondly every news outlet edits videos, if you don't believe me try flipping through several channels covering the same event every channel presents and event the way they want their viewers to see it and the only way for Adam or anyone else to find out what is really going on is to be there in person to see for themselves. I don't have the passion about it that Adam does so I won't be attending a protest, but if he is that passionate he should see it first hand before tells the rest of us how we should think. I tried to talk myself out of this post but I couldn't. I really do not want to be banned from this site and I especially do not want to lose over nine years of posts as they are a living diary of a very transformative part of my life. However, let me address your comments one at a time. No, and this is such a small point but nonetheless, you have not because the beginning of this site is 2011 and you joined in 2014. You have explicitly stated that you will cease all fan service, to quote " ... may listen to a song that interests me here and there but I'm finished having spotify running all day, voting for him on polls, sticking up for him when people bring the gay hate and I will never spend another penny on a concert or merchandise." This is a fan site, so if all you want is to listen to his music, may I suggest Youtube. True, news sites are selective about videos, but there are plenty of unedited videos all over TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, and I assume Facebook (I'm not a member so I don't know). Who you follow or don't follow certainly effects which ones you might see but they are not edited. This would only be true if it were happening exactly where you are. Something completely different could be happening one block away. To get a sense of what is happening nationwide, there is no point in standing on the corner of Sunset & Vine. And finally, Adam is telling us how he thinks based on his experience. Think what you want. Apparently you are passionate enough that you feel the need to exhibit borderline troll behavior here at a place, where Adam Lambert fans congregate to celebrate both the man and his music.

You are free to disagree with Adam, but you are clearly not in the place to judge if he "gets it" or not. Who is? He is exercising his right as a citizen and he is supporting this movement his way, regardless if he joined the protests or not. This may be a good time to weigh in on the value of property damage due to some looters over a couple of days versus black lives lost in the history of the US of A. Are you equally as upset about the injustice that has been done to people of color? BRAVO Adam for speaking up. If you don't like it, follow someone else. I too am shocked about the police brutality that is seeing the light of day at last, and knowing that only a small fraction of what's happening is making the news gets me even more upset. NO need for me to dust our grim realities with glitter.

Many governors have already guaranteed businesses destroyed in the last few weeks would get help rebuilding from the states, so there’s that. Here’s my take on why the focus on ”looting” is so offensive to many - those who chose to zero in on that angle are suggestive of valuing things over people. In the end, property can be rebuilt. Lives lost cannot. There is a saying in Yiddish that loosely translates to “No time to grieve for roses when the forests are burning”. Those who cry over broken glass but ignore the bigger picture are in the “crying over roses” camp. Also, quite often, the same people who scream on top of their lungs that “not all cops” are bad and how we shouldn’t focus on the fringe element and bad apples don’t seem to apply the same standard to the protesters and just dive in head first into focusing on the fringe element (looters). Double standard at best, hypocrisy at worst.

Adam knows about bigotry first hand, having experienced it himself.. I don't think he needs to be lectured.. whether you buy his music or not has little to do with his standing up for freedom and Democracy for all in our country..We are on a very thin line to losing our freedoms.. Black lives Matter and the demonstrations are for all of us all of us who want to be free.Adam being Adam has been fighting for justice all the time I have known of him.. He also puts his time, energy and his money where his mouth is..My respect for Adam knows no bounds.. To me he is what the world needs now...Human dignity ,worth, humility and compassion.. If you have a problem with that, well that's your problem.
