Have I entered an alternate reality? Isn't this the place that wanted Adam as far away from Idol this year as possible?! ![]() As far away as possible from the judging table and the plummeting ratings. First of all, on a personal note, I like what these recent AI finale rumors are doing to the twitter 2million contest. YUP, maybe I manage to avoid that big cross-out line that Q3 is using on our names, after all.
Furthermore, after idol made Adam keep his calendar free for months last year, actually just 8 months ago and kept him in a holding pattern for....ever......, I am a tad gleeful to somehow see the tables turned. Now they are keeping the slot open and joggling their schedule waiting for the phone call from DMG. Hope he keeps them wiggling for a little. Also keeps the media speculation going nicely, so Adam has no incentive to respond all that quickly, if you think about it.
Finally, if he sings with a contestant, who would it be? Of the 10 finalists, he probably could handle anybody, worst would be Lorenzo, and given that Lorenzo is dreaming of Cher, I hope this horror scenario passes him by. Everything else, he surely could make work. Adam has sung with lesser vocalists on a finale before, if I recall right. The bigger question is, if this contestant would then cover part of his song, which song would be suited for the occasion?
Many things to ponder about.

Adam had his calendar clear for 6 weeks. From beginning of Sept. to the Phoenix show in October.

Idol would have been a different, and I think better show this season with Adam on the panel. I also think being a judge would have given what is still a large audience a chance to get to see a sides of him that his fans know so well, his kindness, intelligence, and knowledge of his craft. Lots of new fans would have been made I believe. On the other hand, he spent valuable time on WAG and increasing his international fan base which is very important also. What happened, happened and in the end Adam will be more than fine, but I still see him not being on Idol as a little bit of a lost opportunity.

Atop is double posting again...grrrrr...deleted one, so let's see how many posts I get this time When I refresh the page I'm getting kicked back 3 pages. Me, too. Occasionally it starts working the way it should and I get encouraged, and then it kicks me back again. It's gotten so that instead of refreshing the current page, I just click on the tab to return to the previous page, and then on the tab to go to the current page. It seems a little faster. |
