Roger Interview about Solitary
As exec producer, Roger is starting to do some press about the film! And he had a few things to say. The main point is that he was warning people that it was definitely background music and not much like Queen BUT
there are TWO songs in the film. One in the beginning which he says was actually written by his son and daughter! (NOTE he didn't clarify WHICH son and daughter...odds would be on Rufus as the musician BUT Felix is in the film if briefly and did sing a track with Roger on a single in 2007 so it *COULD* be Felix. I have never heard of a daughter of Rog's doing anything musical) He also didn't clarify if HE performed said song or if it was a song they recorded and he used as musical director.
The second song would be over the ending credits and is *HIS*. SO at LEAST ONE Roger song. BUT my pessimistic side about their productivity in their twilight years and their more recent proclivity to reuse tracks makes me think I won't be surprised if he just uses something from Fun On Earth...BUT hopefully not - Hopefully it's a new Rog track

"There is a song at the beginning," he explains, "but that was actually written by my son and my daughter. There is a song at the very end credits, which is me. All the rest is film music. I don't really see it having much life outside the film. It is purely for the movie."
Taylor wasn't present throughout shooting. He visited the sets from time to time and used the footage to inspire his music. Solitary appears to have been relatively easy to shoot and the cast and crew have been encouraged by the reception it received earlier this year at the Idyllwild Festival in California, where it won several awards.
