Yes at times he does. It got really bad in the later 80s - his marriage crumbled, his dad died, Freddie was dying. He got so low that he almost killed himself at one point but then checked into a facility and got some support and came out the other end in a much better place but he has stated that sometimes depression does strike him from time to time still...
