Just some random thoughts. I think Dr. May has trouble dealing with the human rights issues, animal rights, the air pollution in China that is ever persistent (much less in Shanghai than in Beijing and Hong Kong. The pollution is destroying a country and its people. It is still a communist country and the concept of the architecture in Shanghai compared to the rest of China is so out of place and exceedingly progressive and modern. My husband says the buildings have light shows every evening in Shanghai. I think he overthinks, and as a result has trouble dealing with the dichotomy in China. He is on such a high on this trip and is visiting places that have been years since he saw it last or seeing it the first time. maybe he probably has touble dealing with the changes, and the lack of time to take it all in. I think he wishes he had longer in these places to fully take in what China has become. It is 180 degrees the opposite of the UK. I would be a zombie considering the time differences, and am surprised he is doing as well as he is, and he is still recovering from the food poisoning. That will take its toll on someone his age. I can say this as I am his age. I hope he is not in a dark period, but rather having trouble taking it all in. Maybe he is thinking that the tour ends soon and Adam will be on his way and the fun will be hiatus until Adam is free again. Maybe he thinks about his mortality. I think Brian's tweet can be interpreted in many different ways. He is a big thinker with a big heart and I too can imagine that he has been processing a lot of things....(additionally, as the tour is coming to an end, he may realize that he'll miss Adam's youthful energy and the adrenaline rush that comes with every concert. He found the concert in Shanghai "magical"). I find it very heartwarming and inspiring how openly he shares his emotions. He posted a few more pics on IG btw.

Brian's post makes me sad -- I really hope he doesn't slip back into that pit. I was thinking how happy he and Roger must be to finally perform in China -- clearly I was way off base about how Brian "must" feel. Brian just did that interview on the Dolphin hunts in Japan, I expect those type issues weigh heavy on him. Awww dang. Do you have a link?

I downloaded that video of Adam singing "Imagine" with a quickness! It's been a while since I've done that. It's beautiful. (ETA: I have to add that it's his eyes/expressions while singing looking directly into the camera that's affecting me the most and making me click repeat, though the vocal is extremely lovely, too.) So is the photo he posted today on Instagram. Gorgeous.
I've dipped in and out of this series of Queen concerts, watching a few Instagram clips and a couple of videos in which he sounded awesome. I also watched the videos of Seven Seas of Rhye/Keep Yourself Alive/Hammer to Fall from the first show at least half a dozen times. I loved that opening! I was really happy to have good video of it. I might go back and watch other highlights from this run later.
I'm glad for all the ways Queen has enhanced Adam's personal life and performing life, and especially for the family he's created with the band, but I get a little weary of the repetitiveness at times---though I understand it; every audience deserves to hear the hits (but I bet they'd be thrilled to experience a few unexpected moments, too) and the show's unique to anyone not following along online (which is most everyone in the crowd). Also, I found Adam's clothing kind of cumbersome this go-round. Visually dark, weighty, billowy fabric, unflattering fit. There's a heaviness to the whole look that makes me feel tired. At the beginning, I liked the outfit for the opening segment, but after a while in the photos I saw, it started to leave me with the same impression. I do like the fitted, fringe pants ensemble. I thought his green hair looked pretty cool, at least 70 percent of the time, lol, especially after the sides started to grow out a little. It's been an interesting, edgy cut for a few weeks.
I'm excited for X Factor Australia to start!
I hope "Broken" gains traction, too, on radio and we get a video for the song. It would make sense to me for WBR to help promote it. I hope they will. It's his best chance right now for some radio presence to bridge the gap until he has his own new album. And it would be great if he had some sort of relevant radio presence in Australia while he's on TV there, and in other places the show is airing. He could even perform the song on X Factor; the other judges will probably be showcasing new music. That seems reason enough for his label to give it a push.

Yes at times he does. It got really bad in the later 80s - his marriage crumbled, his dad died, Freddie was dying. He got so low that he almost killed himself at one point but then checked into a facility and got some support and came out the other end in a much better place but he has stated that sometimes depression does strike him from time to time still... Read this article for more: AN ARTICLE ON THE SUBJECTAnd another....Brian's post makes me sad -- I really hope he doesn't slip back into that pit. I was thinking how happy he and Roger must be to finally perform in China -- clearly I was way off base about how Brian "must" feel. He's been pretty good about taking care of himself. I don't think he'll let it slip that far back. Like all depression - sometimes it just raises it's ugly head. I'm sure in someways he is very happy about being in China. He just has to remind himself to not sink sometimes....

He may be sad the tour is ending...but honestly I don't think so. He's got a busy fall/winter finishing up the new album with Kerry Ellis whom always makes him happy - and a December tour with Ms. Ellis as well. And given his comments about doing live performances a different way next year means to me they aren't quite done yet....

Been awol (I'm sure you all noticed - not LOL). But have been checking in for a quick scroll though when I can. Shows are flying by and it seems like Adam has taken things up a whole notch. Really interested to see how it translates into his next solo work... Don't share people's TSMGO love - never liked the song much but that last performance of it was pretty masterful. Isn't it nice that even though we expect him to be amazing he still has the capacity to wow us. Good to see you back posting! Yeah...Adam seems to have moved to a totally new even higher level than he already was at. Aww thanks lovely
