I am also confused about why they decided to release the single this week if there wasn't any special event like XF to promote it. Without an event like that, it seems like it would better sense to release the single in January as previously planned.
Confused.

animated... You are so right... these are mostly school-age kids with their first time idol sighting. They are not seasoned concert attendees who get to see (front-row/multiple) Adam concerts as often as money can buy. In fact, almost non of them actually was at the concert. Adam is lovely, gracious, kind, and understanding towards all international fans. He wants global success and he is humble and curious enough to learn and 'go with the flow', so to speak. Love that he even learnt to write his name in Chinese. He is both genuine and smart. I am glad that he got to feel the young, fresh energy in Shanghai. It's the demographic that he needs and, I believe, will have in his future. Soaked always gets me... but the youth might need something different. It's 'Next' that Adam will give them.

I agree with Whimsey on this. The Chinese fans did nothing that we don't do everyday, and some of what they did was in response to fans asking them questions. We haven't shown them much gratitude and I hope they don't hear all the bitching that has been going on on twitter and other places. ITA *thumbs up* Yes, there are limits, but I don't think the Chinese fans have done anything that I haven't seen US fans do time and time again. YMMV.  and Thanks! hoppers  |

Oh I thought they are releasing BTIKM this week because Adam wants us to enjoy our holidays... because of us... because we so wanted it , and only the single can make our holidays complete ... and Adam was being kind and gracious .... ( Sigh, I thought I was special.... sigh....) ;D  |

Although the schedule is unusual, it makes some sense if they are going for adds 1.10.12. This is massive vacation time in the radio business. So they only have 1 week to promote the song to radio if they release on 1.10.12. By releasing it now, they have time to promote the single to PDs and major DJs before they head off for the holidays.
All I know is the Adam and RCA Promo are paying a lot more attention to radio this time vs. FYE era. They seem determined to get this song on the radio and high on the chart.
I admit to being a bit puzzled but I don't see any reason to be concerned.

As ridiculously super-invested in Adam as I am, I remind myself that he's got people who are more invested, and people financially invested, helping him, who is of course most invested, call the shots. So, I agree there's a reason(s). It feels like a familiar pattern, though, to me: WUT? Oh! HUH? Oh! etc.
