Wal, THANK YOU! I have now inundated the guy with questions, lol! There are some really good ones, so hope he chooses more that one to ask A!
Aleksandra, I totally get what you're saying. The words and his vocal interpretation ALONE are enough to wring tears. Of course he should do whatever he wants--but in some cases, less really is MORE.
And lol to your gif re: Paul Rodgers' words on that blog (their headline is indeed intended to be shit-stirring!) I posted a non-cray comment and included the youtube of snippets "awaiting moderation"
And that concludes my stanning time for this portion of the day, lol! Damn it. I'd like to listen to/ talk about the snippets ALL DAY LONG!

OMG -- say "Ma'am" to a Northerner and watch the indignation spew forth -- it is taught as a form or respect here in the South and causes great confusion when one is chastised for using it. Laughable how our cultural differences can be misinterpreted. Really?! People are offended by ma'am? Are men in the North offended by "sir"? How do store clerks, etc. address people? As in "Ma'am, can I help you find anything today?" If the word ma'am were outlawed, I picture the whole great works of retailing in the South just slowly ... shutting ... down ... No, we all use Ma'am -- it's how the word is interpreted by people not from here. Actually, I find it more inappropriate when the person being addressed as "ma'am" requests that it not be used.

All the talk about the videos reminded me of a pet peeve I have regarding Adam's expression:))) Performing BTIKM on Leno's Show was so exciting to me and I loved the ethereal paleness and solemnity of his face, but at one point he made that 'desperate' expression, which bothers me a bit, kind of ruins it for me a little. He does the same thing on WWFM and BTIKM videos. I think he magnificently pulls off hot&sexy&fierce, but when it comes to slow songs, I wish he remained solemn and dignified. So, speaking of Underneath, hopefully no crying, clutching his chest or making the desperate face. Underneath is such a serious, deeply emotional song that adding physical display of its content to a performance would diminish its pathos and push it into pathetic. Adam should serve as the finest possible medium between the song's strong message and the audience, and thus bringing on the inevitable catharsis. By coincidence or not, this is also the song which brings the word FREAK into the second era. ( WWFM did that in first) I have really strong feelings about that, the implication that anyone could think of Adam as one. Basically, I want to rip their heart out and feed them to it. But it also reminds me of the most famous song which uses the word, Radiohead's "Freak", and Thom Yorke manages to avoid pathetic in that video by remaining serious. Which is my point. Thom York is kind of the king of OTT body movements and facial contortions. I find it completely unenjoyable to watch him sing. A physical display of emotions in a performance is something that is often appreciated or valued by the audience. I posted this video last night as an example of someone else, other than Adam, who can communicate the pain behind their words. Watch Adele's face here, she is definitely showing a physical display of the pain she is singing about: All right...that is another killer! Between this and Underneath, I need to go out and buy some more Visene!! good grief.... :-/

My mind's a blank, I can't explain myself.

Laughable how our cultural differences can be misinterpreted. That's news to me. I was born, raised and spent my life as a northerner and never heard that one. I just asked my co-workers and they laughed. They never heard that either. Well, we all have different life experiences.....what can I say.

If the word ma'am were outlawed, I picture the whole great works of retailing in the South just slowly ... shutting ... down ... 30 years in NY - NOT ONCE have a heard the "ma'am" - only in the movies ... as far as "Sir" is concerned - pretty much the same - it is mostly used as a "mock" response to a request that sounds out of line, like in "yes, sir" - sort of an eye roll... Paul Rogers quote - I think we had this discussion a few days ago - he is most probably talking out of ignorance re Adam's experience and abilities... : Meat Loaf - LOVE HIM! (.. but of course... I love everyone who loves BB) ;D Congrats to everyone going to London, Moscow, Chicago, NJ, and W-B! Will be living the bliss thru your recaps... (Can't go even regionally as my RL - in the form of DD college graduation ceremonies - is in the way >:( ) ... can't decide which is more important to me... (j/k)

I know lots of women who bristle at being called ma'am by service people, because it makes them feel old. Up around here, I rarely hear any of these terms of endearment used except among very close friends.
